Since we are still in the midst of Hari Raya celebrations, Singapore Sports Hub is bringing back the kampung spirit with Celebrate Hari Raya @ Stadium Roar. Taking place from 29 April to 1 May 2023, the event will feature dazzling Malay cultural experiences, festivities, and of course, food.

Located at the Singapore Sports Hub, the three-day long event will feature cultural performances like Dikir Barat, as well as traditional Malay dance. The Singapore Silat Federation will be treating you to an exhilarating martial arts performance. Also taking the stage are local bands like Jive Talkin’, O.M.A, and SHAGIES.

Apart from enjoying live performances and great hits, you’ll also get to enjoy a free tour of the Singapore Indoor Stadium, Water Sports Centre, Singapore Sports Museum, and more. If you’ve never gotten the chance to check out the world-class facilities available at the Sports Hub, this tour is perfect for you — it’s entirely free and all you gotta do is register your interest on-site.

If going on a tour isn’t your thing, you can relive your childhood by taking part in traditional games like bola tin, five stones and spinning tops. To all Gen Z-ers, this was how your parents used to keep themselves entertained as kids, back when there was no TikTok or Netflix. There’s also ketupat plushie making, tile painting, stained glass art and more. Participation is free and you can find more details here.

But of course, it won’t be a celebration without the food. Your tummy is in for a treat, so get ready to sink your teeth into juicy burgers, crispy fried chicken, and tender satay from vendors like The Warung, Ramly Burger, and Yodaebak.

There’s also a selection of snacks like roti jala, tahu goreng, goreng pisang, and more. As if that’s not exhaustive enough, there’s also a spread of assorted traditional kuehs available. If you’re planning to make a trip down, make sure you bring along your appetite because there’s so much delicious goodness here waiting for you to devour.

Last but not least, no celebration is complete without the lights and the glamour. To add to the festivities, the National Stadium roof will be illuminated with a beautiful display taking place from 29 April to 1 May, between 7.30pm and 10pm, so make sure to stick around to catch the spectacular light show!
