Have you ever conquered the real Chatuchak market in Bangkok? With over 28 sections or more in the huge sprawling market filled with almost uncountable shops selling all sorts of items, this iconic market is one not to be missed when you’re in Bangkok.
And if you’ve missed shopping at Chatuchak, or perhaps have yet to even experience shopping there, then you’re in luck. Chatuchak Night Market Singapore is coming to town soon for two months from 7 February to 2 April 2023!
The first Chatuchak market outside of Thailand, this open-air market will have over 180 different vendors selling everything from Thai street food to handicrafts and antiques with different products being imported directly from the original Chatuchak in Bangkok. (This means, we kinda almost sorta would be somewhat shopping at the actual Chatuchak itself when we’re at this Chatuchak market in Singapore!)
If you’ve been to the original market in Bangkok, you probably would already know exactly what can be found – vintage clothes and homeware, fashion accessories and bags, handicrafts by local artists, wooden trinkets, an eclectic selection of home decor items, and much more.
We can certainly expect a similar selection of products to explore at the upcoming market and shop up a storm – Thai-style – and feel like we’re back in Bangkok for a bit, even if we haven’t made it back just yet.
Held at The Grandstand South Carpark on Turf Club Road in Bukit Timah, there will be 200 seats or more around the huge 20,000 sqft space so we can easily find spots to chill and take in the iconic Thai night market vibes (Pratunam, it’s been awhile…) in between shopping and snacking on allll the Thai street food.
Excited to check out the market when it opens? There will be complimentary parking, and free shuttle buses from Botanic Gardens, Clementi and Toa Payoh to bring you to the market and back, so no worries about getting there.
