Not joining the horde of Singaporeans travelling to Thailand any time soon? Miss the vibes of Talad Rot Fai Srinakarin (also known as the Srinagarindra Train Night Market) near Seacon Square? For a little slice of +66 on our shores, head to the buzzy Pratunam Market Place & Bar, an eatery and watering hole near Bugis.

Located in Sunshine Plaza, this eatery has all the makings of an authentic Thai street-style dining experience. The bulk of the food is served from a street cart, with both indoor and outdoor seating available.

The food offerings vary day by day, but you can expect Thai street food staples like Salt Crusted Charcoal BBQ Fish, Moo Ping, Grilled Squid, Sausages, and more.

If you’re looking for seafood that won’t break the bank, go for the Fresh Oysters (S$2) or Garlic Grill Oysters (S$3.50). Prices are way more affordable than you can find at wholesale fisheries, and only around 100 pieces are served daily — head down early to avoid disappointment.

The eatery is perhaps best known for its free-flow buffets from 5pm to 12am, which are sure to satiate the biggest of appetites. Thai lok lok and beer go hand in hand, so why not begin the evening on a high with the Beer Buffet (S$29) and Lok Lok Buffet (S$19 nett)?

Hum lovers can also top up S$15 for the popular Giant Cockles Buffet.

Get the best of both worlds with the Mookata Buffet (S$28.90 per pax) — you’ll get to eat your fill of seafood and meat over more than two hours. Even better, the Mama Premium Mak Mak (S$19.90 for 2 to 3 pax, S$49.90 for 5 to 8 pax) is packed with giant cockles, scallops, mussels, moo ping, prawns, and eggs, with the option of adding lok lok for the ultimate all-in-one feast.
