Snack on cheese-filled & ramen-coated Korean corn dogs from CHUNZ

by Christabel Tan

Gr.iD is quickly becoming one of Singapore’s most happening malls. Naturally, a mall frequented by students from the neighbouring SMU, NAFA, LaSALLE, and Murdoch University has to keep up with the trends. Take the viral Korean corn dogs, for example.

As a sucker for all things street food, I was thrilled to hear about the opening of CHUNZ, a Korean corn dog franchise from Malaysia.

Unlike other mall kiosks selling Korean street food, CHUNZ strays away from the usual fried chicken and tteokbokki-in-a-cup. They specialise in corn dogs, and corn dogs only.

All corn dogs have a la carte and combo options, with the latter inclusive of a drink. You won’t go wrong with The OG (S$4.90 for a la carte, S$7.90 for combo), Mozza (S$5.90 for a la carte, S$8.90 for combo), and Mozza Cheddar (S$6.50 for a la carte, S$9.50 for combo). Want your corn dogs coated in fried potato cubes or crunchy ramen instead? Add on S$1 for a Popo Fluff or a Curly Crunch — I’d totally order both of them.

Drinks come in fun, fruity flavours like the Passion Clio (S$5 for a la carte) and Pinkgrape Fruit-Lychee (S$5 for a la carte). Enjoy a good surprise? There’s even a Mystery Drink (S$5 for a la carte), the contents of which are, well, a mystery.

Will you see these corn dogs all over TikTok? Probably. Will we give them a try for ourselves eventually? Definitely.

Do note that CHUNZ’s products do not contain any pork or lard; the outlet has conveyed to Confirm Good that they are currently working on obtaining halal certification.
