When it comes to getting manicures, one of the most common dilemmas many of us face is trying to decide on a design. With so many designs on Pinterest, Instagram and TikTok, it can get pretty overwhelming to choose. Don’t get me started on trying to find the right shade, rhinestones and other charms to match the design that we want.
Luckily, there’s now a saving grace for the ones that are always spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing our nails for the month (first world problems much?) — Doo Nail (@doo.nail on Instagram) has a mystery draw gachapon machine that chooses our manicure designs for us.
Simply draw a marble from the machine and match the number on it to the number in a booklet filled with all the adorable designs that you can possibly imagine, et voila, that’s going to be your manicure!
The draw and manicure costs S$58, and it’s pretty affordable considering how intricate some of the designs are. Just for reference, a gel manicure with some simple nail art (say, just a smiley face) can easily add up to the same price if you were to get it elsewhere.
To add to the excitement of the mystery draw nails, there are also four special marbles included in the machine that can get you some seriously gorgeous Korean 3D nail art designs (which the nail studio specialises in).
If you already have a design in mind, that’s completely fine too. The gel nail art manicures begin at S$55 (inclusive of cuticle care) and you can send in a reference picture to get a quote as well if you want to be extra sure of how much you’ll be paying — it’s all quite transparent and trustworthy.
For those who love to switch up their nails weekly (or even every couple of days), the nail studio also has ready-made press-on nails from S$30.
Doo Nail is a home-based studio located at Upper East Coast, and to our delight, the space looks really clean and comfortable, with a Korean-inspired interior and a myriad of designs and polishes neatly on display (I feel inspired just looking at the studio!).
