If you love all things Korean and consider pizza the ultimate comfort food, here’s an exciting new launch you’ve got to check out.

South Korea’s largest pizza chain, Eat Pizza, has (crash) landed into Singapore, with their first takeaway outlet located in Paya Lebar.

With over 100 outlets in South Korea, it’s easy to see why the locals there go crazy for this viral K-pizza, all of which are made to order in as fast as five minutes.

Not only are the pizzas speedy, convenient and tasty, they are also designed to be eaten on the go, as they come in a long rectangular shape measuring 25cm. This makes each pizza, which is served in portions designed for one person, really easy to eat with one hand.

You can either enjoy it on your own, or order several to share with friends (for a picnic, perhaps).

Each pizza is made with high protein dough and extra virgin olive oil, topped with 100% natural cheese, and is pork-free (beef is used in the pepperoni), which explains why one Eat Pizza is sold in South Korea every minute.

Do note, however, that the bread-base base is a lot thicker than what you may be used to, so those who prefer thin-crust pizzas may find the pizzas here a tad too doughy for their liking.

Flavours-wise, there are over 10 variations to choose from, ranging from classics like 100% Real Cheese (S$5.90) and Pepperoni (S$6.50) to unique toppings commonly found in Korea like Crispy Potato Bacon (S$6.90), Sirloin Steak (S$8.90), and even Fried Shrimp (S$8.90).

If you’re one of those people who enjoy pineapple on pizza, instead of the usual Hawaiian (S$6.50), why not give the Aloha (S$6.90) a try?

Besides looking like a sight for sore eyes (is that not one of the most picture-perfect pizzas you’ve ever seen?), the combination of pineapples, turkey bacon, and cream cheese mousse worked oh-so well together.

I quite liked the house signature Hot Spicy Chicken Pizza (S$7.90), comprising K-spicy chicken, sweet corn, and a chipotle sauce, but I’d recommend ordering it only if you have a high tolerance for spice, because it will pack a punch. This is coming from someone who adores Samyang fire noodles, by the way.

Although I’ve never been a fan of dessert pizzas, the Sweet Potato Pizza (S$6.50), topped with creamy sweet potato, sweet corn, and cream cheese mousse, was pleasantly sweet, a little savoury, and really, really addictive. I used to think that sweet potato on pizza was just a quirky “Korean thing”, but now I’m convinced.

However, the one flavour I couldn’t get enough of was the PLQ-exclusive Kimchi Bulgogi Pizza (S$9.90), which was umami, smoky, and sweet, with a bit of a kick from the spicy kimchi. A definite must-order.

Pair your pizza of choice with sides like Gochujang Mac & Cheese (S$6.90), Tteokbokki (S$4.90), and Corn Cheese — there’s even a Sweet Potato (S$5.90) version, alongside a selection of banchan.

Both the Kimchi (S$3.50) and Pickled Radish (S$3.50) were excellent, with just the right balance of spice and tang. Honestly, I found them better than the banchan served at some Korean restaurants.

Whether you are eating alone or with a friend, there is something for everyone at Eat Pizza, such as the Hana Set (from S$10.20), inclusive of a pizza, a side of banchan, and a Korean canned drink. Additionally, the Bestie Set (from S$20) comes with a choice of two pizzas, two banchan, and two drinks.

Eager to get your hands on these pizzas? To commemorate its grand opening, Eat Pizza is offering its signature pizzas for just S$1.99 each (U.P S$7.90) for one day only, on 13 January 2024.

This promotion is limited to four pizzas per customer for the first 300 pizzas, with the option of Pepperoni, Crispy Potato Bacon, and Hot & Spicy Chicken, so you better get there early if you want to snag some!

The pizza chain will also be opening in 313@somerset and Plaza Singapura in the following months, so stay tuned.

Till then, will you be heading down to Paya Lebar for a slice of this pie?
