Attention all drivers!
We’ll soon be required to change our car’s in-vehicle Unit (IU) to the new On-Board Unit (OBU). What this also means is that we’ll need to start changing our old cashcards to the ones that are compatible with the new unit — like the EZ-Link Motoring Card.
Great news to everyone who has or is planning to get their hands on the EZ-Link Motoring Card, the card is compatible with your vehicle’s new OBU — which means if you are currently using it in your IU, you’ll be able to use the card once your new OBU is installed.
There’s even more to the good news — EZ-Link is giving away up to S$5000 in petrol vouchers when you use your EZ-Link motoring card for all your motoring needs. If you’ve seen the petrol prices lately (yikes), you’ll wanna stick around to see how you can get a chance to score some handy petrol vouchers.
The card is super easy to pair with the EZ-Link app and one of my favourite features is the top-up function which can be done via the EZ-Link app with no additional fees. If you’re like me and have a tendency to forget about topping up your card, you can also apply for Auto Top-up. No more worrying about whether you have enough money in your card to pay for parking or ERP.
Other cool features of the app include tracking your transactions, which is great for helping you keep track of how much you spend on parking and ERP charges. You can even block your card — perfect for when you lose your card — and transfer the remaining balance to a new EZ-Link card.
Parking in Singapore can get crazy expensive — just a few hours along Orchard Road will set you back at least S$10. And don’t get us started on the ERP prices. But while these costs are unavoidable, EZ-Link is now rewarding you with reward points for transactions made at carparks and ERP payments.
