12 festive spots in Singapore to experience snow this Christmas 2023

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas and this means it’s time for you to switch up your plans for a more fun-filled season this 2023. Other than the usual lights, carnivals and Christmas markets, there’s nothing more special than being able to enjoy snow on a tropical island like Singapore. 

Don’t just dream of a magical white Christmas — live it instead at these 12 festive attractions!

1. Jewel Changi Airport

“Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow~”

Jewel Changi Airport will be letting it snow daily and hourly from 7.35pm at Shiseido Forest Valley and Canopy Park. But don’t just wait for the snow — head down five minutes earlier to the HSBC Rain Vortex for the accompanying Christmas Light & Sound Shows that will take place daily at 7.30pm, 8.30pm, 9.30pm and an additional show on Fridays to Sundays at 10.30pm.

It’s no doubt the best way to enjoy Christmas with magical snow falling around you right after a majestic experience of sound, light and water choreography.

2. VivoCity

With gingerbread houses, penguins, and Christmas trees, VivoCity’s Christmas festivities will transport you into a colourful wonderland. You can’t miss their snow play sessions either, as snow falls under a 15-metre Christmas tree with festive music playing in the background.

Remember to head down earlier to queue as the staff at the plaza won’t be allowing anyone in when the snow starts to fall!

3. Causeway Point and Waterway Point

Singapore will be seeing snow fall in two new spots this 2023 — Causeway Point and Waterway Point. Catch their hourly snow shows featuring a choo-choo train and a magnificent Christmas tree as you whirl around an ice rink!

What can be more romantic than having snow swirl around you as you glide like a princess (or prince) on ice? You can attend the snow shows for free, but you’ll have to book here if you want to show off your skills on ice! It’s S$10 for 30 minutes of fun on their rink, and all equipment except socks will be provided

4. Christmas Wonderland

Aside from enjoying the carnival rides and games at the whimsical Christmas Wonderland, you’ll also be treated to falling snow during Blizzard Time at 7.45pm, 8.45pm, and 9.35pm daily! Spend a neon Christmas with glowing castles, “dancing” Supertrees, and the longest yet Walk of Lights that will lead you through an iridescent tunnel.

5. Tanglin Mall

Get ready for an avalanche of snow at Tanglin Mall’s 2023 Snow Splendours, one of the most popular places to experience “winter” in Singapore during the festive season. A hit with both kids and adults alike, you’ll feel as if you’re in an actual blizzard. There’ll be both avalanche (foam) and snowfall (artificial snow) sessions, so you get double the fun!

6. Changi Festive Village

Changi Festive Village welcomes Christmas with a magical candyland playground, including their Candy Snow House that is filled with actual snow! Frolic about in the snow with sleigh rides, an ice luge, snow bowling, or pose for the gram with a life-sized Frosty the Snowman.

There’s plenty of fun to be had at the snow house — you’ll be sweating before you know it even with the chilling temperatures there!

7. The Star Vista

The annual snow extravaganza, Ice Magic: Winter Wonderland, returns this 2023 with Singapore’s first Merry-Go-Round on Ice, the longest snow slope ever, snow slides, and the highlight of each session — illuminated Arctic winter lights that will transform the space into a romantic wonderland.

11. A Universal Christmas @ Universal Studios Singapore

Celebrating Christmas at Universal Studios Singapore is probably the best experience you can have this 2023. Other than snow, you’ll be seeing all-new live shows, your favourite characters from the Minions, Kung Fu Panda, Shrek and even Santa making his deliveries throughout the park.

Follow Santa on his delivery route to Santa’s North Pole Headquarters, where snow will fall multiple times a day and at the end of the spectacular W.I.S.H show that is packed with live singing and dancing every evening.
