With great food and chill vibes, Famous Hangout is indeed an amazing place to hang out with friends. Tucked away within the Hong Heng Mansions, this alfresco bar and restaurant serves a supersized seafood pot, flaming volcano chicken, and other incredible Nanyang dishes.
The restaurant is perfect for any seafood lover, offering a selection of lobsters, crabs, shellfish, and more. But if you can’t pick just one, get the Seafood Treasure Pot (price depends on the ingredients you choose!), which is absolutely huge and filled with five types of seafood. Dig into flower crabs, prawns, squid, fish, and clams, all cooked in a garlic and lemon Thai broth.
Otherwise, the spicy and savoury Marinated Cockles Teochew Style (S$14 onwards) is another dish that will curb your seafood cravings!
Their signature Oven Baked Volcano Chicken (S$58) is also one of the most impressive dishes on the menu too and is served quite literally on fire. It’s really quite the show, and when the flames finally die down, you’ll get to tuck into tender, smokey meat.

Not quite satisfied and still looking for more? Another popular dish is the K.L. Style Hokkien Mee (S$16 onwards). Unlike the version we’re familiar with, this Hokkien Mee is braised in a flavourful dark sauce and topped with fresh seafood and crispy lard. It’s a dish you’ll rarely find in Singapore, and now you won’t have to go all the way to Malaysia to enjoy it.
With a garden setting and lovely alfresco dining, this is the perfect place to chill with friends and grab a drink or two. Take your pick from the bar’s selection of craft beers, wines, and liquors — and enjoy the Happy Hour promotions if you visit from 5pm to 8pm.
