Having steamboat for supper is pretty common, but chicken rice? Hmmm.

Regardless, you can now enjoy both whenever those random 3am cravings strike at Feng Sheng Chicken Rice, also known as Famous Dover Market Hainanese Chicken Rice & Steamboat.

Some may remember it as “that middle chicken rice stall” in Dover Market & Food Centre (Blk 33), best known for its Hainanese boneless chicken rice with homemade achar, which unfortunately closed over a decade ago due to demolition works.

They’re now back as a fully fledged restaurant along Short Street near Rochor MRT station dishing up plates of their Signature Chicken Rice (S$6). Both the old-school steamed and roasted chicken is drizzled with a layer of garlic-infused oil and crispy garlic bits — perfect for all you garlic fanatics.

We hear the Lemon Chicken Rice (S$6), or Lemon Chicken Cutlet (S$15) for sharing, which is freshly fried to order, is a must-try.

You can even order your chicken with Spicy Korean Noodles (S$8) and Indomie (S$8), alongside add-ons like Gizzard/Liver (S$1.50) and Thai Style Tofu (S$5).

As for steamboat, the classic Steamboat Set (S$48.80) comes inclusive of ingredients like Pork Slices, Fresh Lala, Baby Abalone, Fresh Prawns, Fishball with Fish Roe, Enoki Mushroom, and Fried Beancurd Roll, just to name a few, with three different soup bases to choose from: chicken, herbal, or prawn.

if you’d to have the best of both worlds, go for one of the Steamboat Sets (from S$58.80++), comprising a portion of chicken, rice, and if you opt for the pricier options (that can feed larger groups of up to six), side dishes.
