Aspiring shutterbugs, it’s time to get creative at Film Snaps, an indie art and photography market happening from 17 to 18 December 2022 at *SCAPE in Somerset . Featuring a packed line-up of activities, talks with local photographers, and free door gifts for the first 50 guests, you’re in for an exciting weekend exploring all that the festival has to offer.
Want to get crafty? Try your hand at making your own point-and-shoot camera with Avant-Garde Art Space, during which you can pick your favourite design, and assemble a cute camera ready to be used on the spot. Budding photographers can get their questions answered by photography experts in a live Q&A session and learn some tips and tricks to make your photos stand out.
Wander a wide variety of booths where you can pick up a retro camera or two, bring home some photography-inspired candles, and shop for some vintage streetwear outfits. You’ll get to meet like-minded photo enthusiasts too, and go on a photowalk where you can capture unique night photography shots of the Christmas lights!
Swap your film photograph prints at the Print Exchange corner, creating a curated library of photos from the community, that brings photographers from all walks of life together. All you have to do is bring a print of a film photo, and you swap it for one you like.
There’ll also be an analogue photobooth where you can snap a pic with your friends, and watch it to develop retro-style. Seasoned film photographer Charles Yee will also be hosting a panel on film photography for amateurs, where you can kickstart your photography journey after learning the basics.
