Beat the heat with Singapore’s only air-conditioned prawning facility that opens till 6am with rates from just S$13 per hour

I can still vividly recall going to kelongs for a short getaway when I was younger. While I lamented about such trips being hard to come by these days, my friends brought up a viable alternative — prawning. More specifically, prawning at FishBugis+

For those of you who are a little more experienced, you know that it can get pretty uncomfortable real quick when you fish under the hot sun. If you can relate, you’ll be delighted to know that this is currently the only facility in Singapore that offers an air-conditioned prawning experience.

The best part? Prices are still relatively affordable despite these perks, with rod rental starting from just S$13 per hour (S$20 for an hour, S$30 for two hours and S$39 for three hours). They also open until 6am, so all you night owls can even head down during the wee hours of the morning!

Enjoy your spoils by bringing them home to enjoy, or barbeque them on the spot (with no additional charge) for maximum freshness. I know — sometimes, no matter how hard we try, prawning can be really tough for some. Well, patrons have also commented that they were given a few prawns to grill despite not managing to catch anything themselves.

To get the most bang for your buck, plan your visit on Fridays and Saturdays at 10pm, or at 3pm on Sundays. During these time slots, boston lobsters and large crabs will be released into the pond for you to catch — all for the same hourly rates. Just imagine snagging yourself a fresh crab for just S$13!

If you’re coming with children who are not quite ready for prawning just yet, there’s also a longkang fishing area for them to engage in more kid-friendly activities. It’s slightly pricier at S$14/hour, and will cost an additional S$5 to rent a net, but you’ll get to bring home the guppies you manage to catch.

Whether you’re an early bird or a night owl, head down to FishBugis+ for some wholesome fun!
