Art jamming has pretty much become a common pastime since its rise in popularity in recent years. Whether it’s constructing and painting your own camera, acrylic pouring on a Bearbrick model, or just good ol’ painting on a canvas — the options are endless.
But have you ever painted on a piece of toast before?
Located just across the causeway in Johor Bahru, Forever Twenty Cafe is a kawaii cafe that offers just that — and more.
Decked out with a kawaii pretty in pink interior, this cafe is not only a great place to catch up with your loved ones over some yummy bites and drinks, but also a haven for those who love hands-on activities like crafting and decorating things.
For an adorably unique DIY activity, try out their toast jamming session — where you’ll swap out a canvas for two pieces of white toast when you unleash your inner Picasso. Each session will cost around S$5.60 (RM18), and come with a few paint pots in which you can decorate your toast with.
For those of you who are wondering, the ‘paint’ is actually edible yoghurt that’s been coloured! Our parents often told us not to play with our food, but they never said not to make art with them!
If you’d like something less perishable that you can actually bring home, they also have various decoden decorating workshops — the most popular being the DIY decoden cream phone cases which start from roughly S$7.90 (RM 26). These come with a variety of charms that you can choose from so that you can create a phone case that screams uniquely you.
There’s even school uniform rentals that start from S$9 (RM30) — coupled with the cafe’s aesthetic and classroom-inspired interior, you’ll definitely feel the main character of your own shoujo manga (not to mention, they’ll make for impeccable shots for your IG and TikTok feed!).
When you’re feeling peckish, there’s also a variety of mouth-watering bites and refreshing sips for you to choose from like croffles, croissants, ramen, innovative lattes like Butterfly Pea Latte and more!
Ready for an inventive afternoon of fun and yums? Check out Forever Twenty Cafe now!
PS: the toast painting sessions require a one day in advance booking, so make sure to give them a heads up before heading down for it!
