Answer fast: it’s cold and rainy today — what are you craving for? If your answer was hot pot, then you’re definitely not alone. To many Singaporeans, hot pot is the perfect meal to have when it’s cold. Not only that, it’s also a great way to slow down and catch up with our loved ones (I especially love that everyone takes their time while having hot pot, and we really get to enjoy our loved ones’ company and presence!).
While a slightly more chilly day on our sunny island is enough to warrant a super shiok hot pot session — nothing can really beat having this warm, bubbling and brothy meal in the real cold. I’m talking subzero temperatures, snow, all that wintery jazz. And guess what — now we can actually enjoy that experience in Singapore.
Thanks to Ice Magic: The Great Fantasy on Ice’s collaboration with the famous hot pot franchise Haidilao, you can now experience having hot pot in the middle of a winter wonderland without leaving our sunny island until 29 January 2023.
This will be Haidilao’s first ever pop-up event in Singapore, where you’ll be able to enjoy two different sets with some of their signature menu items — the Hi Magic Beef set and Hi Magic Pork set. Other than the choice of meats, the other ingredients are pretty much standardised with cheese tofu, sliced fish, chicken, assorted vegetables and sliced fish.
And here’s something to level up the experience — instead of the usual tables and chairs, you’ll be dining on ice stools and tables (don’t worry about sitting directly on the ice, there’ll be cushions placed on the seats to keep you warm and snug!).
If you’re not up for hot pot, there’ll also be new additions to the winter playground like snowboarding and skiing lessons and activities so you can show off your skills during your next holiday (Swiss Alps or Hokkaido, maybe?).
