No, we’re not doing our nails or getting a massage for our next JB trip. Instead, you’ll find me getting the keyboard of my dreams.

We all know customising keyboards isn’t exactly the most accessible hobby out there but Keebs Project might just change that. And, yes, the fact that they’re located across the border is a huge reason.

This custom keyboard store in Eco Palladium has pretty much anything and everything you need to create a Pinterest-worthy desktop setup. I mean, there are over 600 products offered, so take your time to browse through the store.

For starters, you can choose from over 100 types of switches — all available in either linear, clicky, or tactile.

Linear allows for a smoother typing experience, whereas clicky produces that noticeable ‘click’ sound commonly heard in ASMR videos. As for tactile, they have tiny bumps on them for more sensorial typing.

The switches cost between S$0.18 (RM0.60) and S$35.79 (RM119), and come in a wide array of designs and colours. Keyboard enthusiasts will surely be familiar with brands like Akko, MMD Vivian, and MZ Studio.

You’ll also be provided with the option to get your switches lubed. If you do, you can choose from three types: factory-lubed, hand-lubed, or lubed and filmed.

Factory-lubed switches come pre-lubricated, while hand-lubed switches are done manually on-site, offering a more precise lubrication.

For the most thorough application (to satisfy your kiasu side), go for the lubed and filmed. A layer of oil is applied to prevent rust and can even enhance the sound quality.

Once you’ve chosen your switches, it’s time for the keycaps — this is where you can really get creative. You can get them anywhere from S$0.45 (RM1.49) to S$60.10 (RM200).

At Keebs Project, you’ll discover an endless variety of keycaps you never knew you needed! For example, Valorant Keycaps are hella extra for no reason but why not go all out, am I right?

There are also Pokemon, Sanrio, and other anime-themed keycaps for those looking to add a touch of fandom to their setup.

Feel free to bring your current keyboard for a glow-up like no other. However, let’s say you don’t, you can start from scratch by getting their base kit (from S$15.04 / RM50).

But why stop there? With a custom keyboard that looks this amazing, it’s only fair that your desktop setup matches the vibe. Their deskmats, priced between S$4.51 (RM15) and S$20.76 (RM69), are waterproof and help protect your table from scratches.

Don’t leave the store without getting the Cloud Bubble Wrist Rest (S$15.04 / RM50). Not only is it super cute but it’s also infused with memory foam to give your hands some much-needed TLC while you’re typing away tirelessly (or playing — I don’t judge!).

Customising your keyboard can be exhausting, so head on over to their in-house Keebs Cafe to refuel with a selection of drinks.

What does your dream keyboard look like?
