The world’s tiniest restaurant Le Petit Restaurant lets you cook the tiniest Thai food hands-on in Bangkok

by Glenda Chong

Anyone who’s on the food side of TikTok has undoubtedly fallen into a rabbit hole of watching addictive, cute mini cooking videos — tiny edible dishes painstakingly made with equally miniature utensils and scaled-down recipes and ingredients.

But what if I told you you can learn mini cooking beyond these videos?

That’s right, this popular trend has been made possible by Le Petit Restaurant, which claims to be the world’s tiniest restaurant in Bangkok.

Entitled Tiny Chef’s Table, it’s as if Le Petit Restaurant reached into your TikTok feed and brought it to their kitchen for this experience.

Step into Le Petit Restaurant and you’ll find yourself in a custom-made kitchen set up fit for ants. Yes, even the appliances such as the fridge and oven have been shrunken down, but you’ll still be sitting in human-sized chairs for the experience.

During the hands-on experience, get your (mini) chef’s hat on as you prepare eight curated Thai dishes using specially crafted tiny utensils and equipment including matchsticks, tweezers and even a small magnifying glass to inspect your work.

You’ll also pick up authentic Thai cooking techniques within the intimate, private setting.

While there isn’t a specified list of what dishes you’ll whip up, some mentioned bites you might cook include the classic Moo Satay, Som Tum, and desserts such as Bua Loy.

Best of all, you can take the recipes with you and continue your mini (or regular) cooking at home.

Le Petit Restaurant is also offering an exclusive miniature food clay workshop so you can create permanent souvenirs you can take home.

Ready for a mini cooking experience that promises maximum flavour? While you might leave the Tiny Chef’s Table experience hungry, you’ll be filled with fun memories and recipes.
