I know Christmas just ended, but that does not mean the celebrations are stopping anytime soon. With just a few more days left until the end of this calendar year, what better way to ring in 2024 than with a party filled with food, shopping, and concerts?
That’s basically what Mega Fiesta Johor (very aptly named, by the way) is all about.
Taking place from 29 December 2023 to 1 January 2024, the Mega Fiesta Johor is basically a pasar malam but on a grander scale.
I’m already sold on the pasar malam concept but this fiesta has so much more to offer!
There’ll be an extensive selection of F&B stalls featuring some popular street bites such as corn dogs, tacos, ayam gunting (the viral cut fried chicken slices that has taken over Malaysian street food), sausages in a cup, and more.
They even have fresh oysters and packed meals if the small bites aren’t enough to fill your tummy.
Not up for the nasi lemak in a box, or even Ramly Burgers? Perhaps you can delight your taste buds with some piping hot food cooked on the spot for you! Given the current rainy season we’re experiencing, a little hotpot meal sounds lovely.
Of course, there are also desserts such as ice cream and even from Mencekik JB, as well as beverages like juices and childhood faves like bandung. So, if you think about it, you can customise a whole three-course meal here.
Of course, food is not the only thing they have got going at this fiesta.
There will also be retail booths set up selling apparel like shirts, caps, hoodies, and more. Who loves a good shopping spree in JB? I know I do! And it’s okay, the year is ending so, feel free to go all out and treat yourself.
There will also be acts performed by selected artists such as Iera Milpan, Borhan Band, Yuletta Yucha and more taking place from 8.45pm till 12am.
While you’re there, might as well stay and enjoy the fireworks display to ring in the new year. Think about it: you’ll get to ring in the new year in another country and you’ll get to skip the jam too — double win!
And the best part? Entry to this fiesta is free of charge.
