As the ever-adventurous Singaporean on the lookout for the next group activity, anything that jumps out as a good way to spend a Saturday afternoon immediately arrests my attention. Mud Krank at Kranji Farm offers All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) rides through undulating trails for children aged between four and 12, but has recently extended the experience to thrill-seeking adults too.
Rides for adults from S$35
Recently launched in January this year, Mud Krank’s adult ATV rides are priced at S$35 a session on weekdays, and S$40 on weekends for a session. While this might come across as a tad costly for a mere 20-minute ride, it might still be worth a visit considering that ATV experiences in Singapore are few and far between.
The rides for kids between four and 12 stand at S$15 for each 15-minute session.
Ride itinerary
If you’re a tad bit jittery about steering the vehicle on your own despite not having a driver’s license, that’s what the trial run is for. Before you ride freely around the farm, you’ll have the chance to get comfortable on the ATV first via a practice run.
The ATV is designed to withstand rides regardless of the weather, so don’t let a little pitter patter stop you from having your fun. You might want to dress comfortably and be prepared to get splashes of mud, though. This includes gearing up with long pants and covered shoes, and riders who don’t dress appropriate might run the risk of being turned away.
Halal-certified dining
After a long day’s ride, you can fuel up at the restaurants in the premises that promises “a taste of countryside dining”. Get your fill of Nasi Sambal Goreng (S$7) or Nasi Bawal Penyat (S$8) at the halal-certified establishments.
