I’m all about affordable chirashi dons topped with fresh and luscious sashimi. Even better if they can be found in the East.
One such place is Ninja Chirashi, an eatery frequented by Tampines residents. It’s known for dishing out delectable Japanese rice bowls that won’t break the bank — sounds right up my alley.
The signature Ninja Chirashi (S$10.50) boasts thiccc and juicy chunks of marinated salmon and tuna with tamago, tobiko, and wakame atop Japanese rice.
Take it up a notch with the elevated version of the Ninja Chirashi, the formidable Ninja Lord (S$21.90), which comes laden with scallop, ikura, and sweet shrimp on top of the usual salmon and tuna.
Alternatively, spice things up with the Spicy Ninja Chirashi (S$11.50) or Truffle Chirashi (S$12.50). After all, a drizzle of truffle oil never fails to disappoint.
Mad about mentaiko? Both the Aburi Salmon Don (S$12.50) and Tori Karaage Don (S$10.50) are slathered in saucy mentaiko goodness that’ll have you raring to order another.
You can (and should) top up for a Set Meal (from S$4), inclusive of a drink and a side of Tamago Mentai, Chawanmushi, Karaage, or extra Sashimi.
Need I say more? Head to Tampines and load up on your favourite chirashi ASAP!
