Do you always scream for ice cream? If you can’t get enough of this icy treat, why not check out Oh My Cow!, a new dessert spot milking (ha ha) drool-worthy ice cream, all day, every day in Marina Square?
Located just next to the mall’s main atrium, the cosy and inviting 18-seater space and its open bar concept is decked out in pink, orange and soft cream hues, with a colourful “wonderland vibe” that appeals to families, couples, and children alike.
Opened by the founder of progressive dessert and cocktail bar Pilcrow, Oh My Cow! is a concept born out of a culmination of travel experiences fuelled by wanderlust. The signature homemade ice cream, for instance, is inspired by flavours from all over the world.
Go for the crowd-favourite Classic flavours, such as the nostalgic Ribena Sorbet, Cookies & Cream, and deeply aromatic Roasted Black Sesame. Otherwise, take it up a notch with the selection of Premium flavours, which include the likes of the sweet and salty Toasted White Chocolate, Oolong Osmanthus, and Kochi Yuzu Sorbet.
Ice cream is priced at S$4.90 for a Single and S$8.90 for a Double, with an additional S$1 for premium flavours.
Making its first appearance in Singapore is the unique Nutella tap, which unfortunately wasn’t operating during our visit (but it should be good to go at the time of writing).
This tap flows with liquid ‘gold’ — the much-loved hazelnut cocoa spread that has been gently heated with a chocolate-tempering machine — and can be enjoyed with practically anything, be it scoops of ice cream or plated desserts.
Speaking of plated desserts, the aromatic and denser-than-usual Ice Cream Love Letter Waffle (S$15) is a fun riff on the quintessential Chinese New Year snack. It comprises a freshly baked love letter waffle topped with your choice of a double scoop of ice cream and maple syrup.
Out of the two flavours my colleague and I picked, we enjoyed the Soya Bean with Dough Fritters (it really tasted like the real deal) a lot more than the Pistachio Power, which was a tad too milky for our liking. Give it a try if you prefer a less concentrated pistachio flavour.
We also tried the enticing Signature Truffle Cheesecake, a creamy, sweet-savoury, and slightly tart number with a unique funk that grows on you, as well as the After Eight, because I’m a sucker for all things mint and chocolate.
Although we couldn’t try every flavour, you can attempt to do so by visiting in a group of four or five and ordering the Ice Cream ‘Hot Pot’ (S$22), which consists of five scoops of ice cream served in an actual hotpot. It’s a fun novelty dessert that is sure to delight!
You can also indulge in an unconventional coffee experience by ordering freshly-brewed cuppas prepared with an all-manual Flair PRO 2 Espresso Maker. Enjoy the manually-pulled coffee in the form of an unadulterated Espresso (S$3.50) or Black (from S$4.50), or make it a decadent dessert with the Ice Cream Affogato (S$9.50) — a single scoop of ice cream cloaked in two shots of espresso and topped with a waffle biscuit.
@tastesoulsg Sadly the nutella tap was faulty during my visit, else my ice cream would be drowning in it!!???? #tastesoulsg #ohmycow #icecreamsg #newcafesg #icecreamwaffle #waffleicecream #sgfoodtiktok #nutellaicecream #sgcafe #sgfoodie ♬ Ice Cream (with Selena Gomez) – BLACKPINK
It’s a fun dessert concept with a good mix of familiar and inventive ice cream flavours — just don’t forget to load up on the Nutella!
