Here’s one thing you should know about me: I prefer nasi padang over economical rice (cai fan).

Although nasi padang isn’t what most would consider pricey, here’s a rare chance for you to fill up on your favourite dishes from just S$28++ at Singapore’s first Nasi Padang Buffet.

Launched on 1 February 2023 at the newly renovated Coleman’s Cafe in Peninsula Excelsior Hotel, this unique yet affordable nasi padang buffet showcases a wide variety of mouthwatering local curry and sambal dishes prepared fresh daily.

Kick things off with DIY Gado Gado, Sop Buntut (traditional oxtail soup), and Beef Bakso with Condiments — perhaps you’ll even gain the inspiration to book a trip to Indonesia ASAP!

Hit up the Mee Station for Mee Soto, Mee Siam, and/or Mee Rebus, before piling your plates with an array of aromatic mains like Beef Cheek Rendang, Ikan Assam Pedas (fish in tamarind booth), Udang Masak Lemak (prawns in coconut curry with pineapple), and Tauhu Telor (crispy fried egg with beancurd served with kicap chilli and peanuts).

And of course, you’ll need plenty of carbs (but not too much) to mop up all those rich sauces, like Kentang Masak Sambal Ikan Bilis (fried potatoes with anchovies and peanut), Begedil with Kicap Manis, and Nasi Kuning (steamed yellow ginger rice).

End off on a sweet note with desserts like Ice Kachang, Chendol, and Kueh Kueh Campur (assorted kueh), before leaving with a full and happy belly.

Prices for the buffet are as follows:

  • Weekends & PH:
    Lunch : S$33++ per adult / S$23++ per child
    Dinner : S$38++ per adult / S$28++ per child

Even better, for every five diners, one gets to eat for free, but terms and conditions apply, so do check with the staff beforehand!
