There’s more to bonding with our furry friends than just park strolls and dog runs. The Star Vista is here to prove that by hosting Pets Social Ground — an annual event packed with exciting activities and DIY workshops.
This year, the theme for Pets Social Ground 2024 is ‘Paw-lympiad’ and as you might have guessed, it’s all about sports and fitness. If you’ve been itching to show off your four-legged baby’s skills, now’s your chance to let them shine!
Don’t worry, you’re not expected to run, jump, and roll around with them — unless, of course, that’s what it takes to get them moving (we won’t judge!).
Your furry babies can burn off their boundless energy at the Paw-Some Playground, where they can go down a slide, jump through hoops, race with obstacles and many more.
The Playground is available from 11am to 9pm, with the last entry at 8.45pm.
While they can’t roam solo (a pawrent must be on duty!), they’re free to meet new friends for some sniffing and playful fun. After all, we all know our furkids are natural social creatures.
Another environment to keep their brains active and engaged is the Ball Pit Bark-Tacular. This is no ordinary ball pit as it’s set to break the Singapore Book of Records as the largest dog ball pit on 21 September 2024 at 4pm.
So, even the biggest, mightiest of tail-waggers can dive in and have a blast.
To keep things tidy and spill-free, all doggos will need to rock some stylish diapers — trust me, it’s for the best. Do note the pit is only available on Saturdays and Sundays from 11am to 9pm, with the last entry at 8.45pm.
However, if your pets have a flair for the artistic, they’ll feel right at home at the Paw-sible Print Workshop (Paw Print Art Workshop). On the other hand, for those who prefer a bit of hands-on creativity themselves, head on over to the Champs Collar Workshop (DIY Collar Workshop).
Here, you can mix and match various beads, strings, and other accessories to create a one-and-only necklace for your furkid. I brought a friend with me to the event and she crafted a pearl collar for her cat, Sky (how cute!).
Do note that the Paw-sible Print Workshop only takes place on 14 and 21 September, whereas the Champs Collar Workshop is on 15 and 22 September 2024. Both these workshops have two sessions: 12pm to 2pm and 4pm to 6pm.
For those of us still waiting for our own furry friend (I’m on my way!), don’t worry! We can still join the fun at Pets Social Ground by checking out the awesome pets fair booths and all their pet-tastic offerings.
Among the goodies offered are delicious dehydrated treats, stylish apparel, and a whole bunch of accessories.
You can also receive a special goodie bag (worth up to S$20) from The Pet Safari, available in three versions for dogs, cats, and even bunnies! All you’ve to do is like the Instagram pages of The Star Vista and Pet Lovers Centre at the Customer Service counter (#01-27) to redeem your goodies.
Extra perks are granted to shoppers as well. Until 22 September 2024, spend over S$100 at The Star Vista and receive a S$10 voucher as a reward. You can stack up your same-day receipts but the limit is three!
For those who aren’t camera shy, don’t forget to strike your best pose at the photobooth. Pawrents, feel free to capture unforgettable moments with your furbabies.
It’s truly the ultimate day out for you and your four-legged pals.
