After two long years thanks to Covid-19, we haven’t been able to indulge in the Pasar Malam food and experiences we used to take for granted.

Punggol Pasar Malam is now coming back this April (along with a slew of changes the government has recently made). This means we’re finally able to go out and enjoy pre-covid events like these and slowly see a return to our normal lives before 2020.

We have all sorely missed going to our local Pasar Malam (night market), walking around, smelling the enticing aromas, and maybe even doing some light and random shopping.

Back in the day, or at least two years ago, what did you usually purchase at a Pasar Malam?

For me, I have a few things I always get every time I visit. Even now, I can imagine standing in the queue for a freshly cooked Ramly Burger, getting my must-have buttered and salted Cup Corn (super basic, I know), and buying a bag of Cha Ye Dan (Chinese Tea Eggs).

Otherwise, I’d get some Keropok Lekor, Churros and other local street food I’m in the mood for at the moment. Even a bowl of fake Shark’s Fin Soup sounds really good right about now too.

Just imagining all the food is making me salivate as I’m writing this right before lunch.

Thankfully, I’m an Eastie, which means it’s even easier for me to head to Punggol MRT and Bus Interchange where the Pasar Malam will be held from 17 April to 2 May 2022.

So make sure to mark this down on your calendars. Anticipate all the mouthwatering smells, sumptuous variety of local snacks, glimmering fairy lights and various other goodies from the Punggol Pasar Malam!
