This World Mental Health Month, the National Gallery invites you to slow down with art experiences designed to help you pause, recharge, and reconnect – from quiet spaces for contemplation to activities focused on calm and mindfulness. 

Mindful Making: Banner Upcycling Workshop

Keen to pick up sewing but have no prior experience? National Gallery’s got you covered, with skilled facilitators walking you through basic sewing machine techniques and hands-on construction methods.

The workshop aims to promote sustainability by upcycling materials (retired PVC banners) into unique, functional pieces. It’ll be held from 3 to 5pm, and tickets are S$35, with S$28 for Gallery Insiders. Do note that registration starts at 2.50pm. Secure your tickets here

Sunset Yoga & Sound Bath

If rooftop yoga at sunset is right up your alley, don’t do it alone – bring your yoga bestie. Immerse yourself in a therapeutic soundscape to unite your mind, body, and spirit to achieve inner peace and strength. Yoga mats are provided, and all participants will receive a complimentary Hydr-Aid sample from Moom Health. Register here for S$25, or S$20 for Gallery Insiders

How to Art with Friends

This is your sign to jio your friend(s) to do 10 fun activities together – look at art in new ways. Flip through the booklet and pick any activities that speak to you. Let your creative juices flow and recreate music playlists, take expressive portraits of each other, or even write simple poetry. Priced at S$2 per set, includes the How to Art with Friends guide and a pencil. Each participant is encouraged to purchase one set for their own use.

A Journey of Wonder & Mindfulness

This two-hour Slow Saturday drop-off experience, led by holistic arts educator Jolie Michelle Ow, takes children beyond simply looking at art – using soundscapes, movement, light and shadow play, and mindfulness to help them slow down, observe deeply, and build focus, confidence, and self-awareness.
