SOD Café opens all-day brunch second outlet with $188 lucky draw

by Evan Mua

SOD Café has been in the scene for a while, now they’re finally opening their second outlet at 183 Longhaus. While their first outlet was a hidden gem in a Ci Yuan Community Centre, the new outlet is more accessible.

The new SOD Café at 183 Longhaus will be opening for service on 15th January. They will be holding a lucky draw on their opening week, where you can win S$188 cash. It might be worth a trip on your well-deserved CNY off day in-lieu.

Compared to the more basic setup at their first outlet, the décor here is a lot more modern and refined, especially with marble counter tops and wood tones.

The sharp yellow sofa seats also adds a vibrancy, especially with the neon sign hanging right above it. If you love neon signs, you’d enjoy the space because there’s quite a few quirky ones.

This new SOD Café outlet’s menu will be expanded to include newer items that the original outlet didn’t have. They are offering up all-day brunch, more in line with the other cafes at Upper Thomson—price point is lower too.

One of the most eye-catching items on their menu at Longhaus is the Eggs benny on Brioche Toast (S$12.90). Their rendition of the classic dish comes with nicely poached eggs, ham, and hollandaise, all set atop brioche buns.

Another bready item on their menu is the Croissant with Scrambled Eggs and Candied Bacon (S$13.90), which stands out with the use of candied bacon. For the instagrammers, the vibrantly-coloured French Toast wit Salted Caramel Bananas ($12.90) is a feast for the eyes with the beautiful plating.

If you want something simple but still hearty, there are also dishes like classic Aglio Olio (S$8.90) or the unique Bak Kwa Fries (S$8.90).

In the beverage department, SOD Café is particularly popular for their bubble tea. Think Taro Milk Tea (S$4.70), Green Milk Tea (S$4.70), or the Tan Milk Tea (S$4.70), which is a charcoal oolong milk tea.

183 Longhaus is situated at Upper Thomson, near to popular cafes like Pacamara and Longhaus neighbours Woodlands Sourdough. If you’re looking to café hop in the area, maybe consider adding SOD Café to the list.
