The Sotong Game is a Singaporean take on Squid Game & it’s headed your way this Halloween

At this point, it seems like everyone who isn’t living under a rock or with a decent schedule has already seen one of Netflix’s most-watched shows — Squid Game. For those with a hankering to get a taste of your own, you’ll be ecstatic to know that Sotong Game exists and it’s right here at Duxton Hill.

While it won’t exactly have you sparring to your death (and thank the heavens for that, I say), it’ll help you get into the “red light, green light” state of mind. Hosted by The Secret Patio, Sotong Game Pop-Up – Halloween Dine and Die? (S$228.00 nett for 2 pax) is the group’s latest immersive dining experience, and there couldn’t be a better time for it.

The multi-sensory event is a themed-4 course fine dining dinner which features dishes inspired by various food items served through the show. For instance, Episode 4, the dinner’s second course, features the element of egg, which viewers might remember as the milestone incident which sparked tensions and eventually a fight amongst the players in their sleeping quarters.

Episode 8, the dinner’s third course, is one that’s hard to forget. It’s none other than the fateful last meal which the last three players were served the night before they were expected to take on the last game. Some might even draw parallels as the show’s last supper. Here at Sotong Game though, you’ll be served a peppercorn crusted ribeye with roasted baby potatoes in rosemary and garlic.

Sotong Game also promises Instagram-worthy photo spots with a local twist, an interactive segment that they’re keeping tight-lipped about because #nospoilers, as well as a free goodie bag that hold nostalgic toys from our childhood.

Also, just like the show itself, there is also an ultimate prize to be won here. And while it might not be KRW45.6 billion, you can stand a chance to win a custom-made resin soldier mask that’s worth S$200, so you’re guaranteed to be Halloween-ready for all your socially distanced parties to come.

The pop-up is happening on 30 and 31 October 2021 in two time slots 6pm-8pm, 8.30pm-10.30pm, and the dress code is sweat shirt and sweat pants for maximum preparedness for anything to come. RSVP here.
