Sta Western brings the ’90s back in style with its retro vibes and old-school Western menu

With today’s fast-paced world, it’s no surprise that many find themselves nostalgic for the ’90s simplicity. While we can never return to those carefree days, we may still be immersed in some of their good vibes.

Cue Sta Western, a newly opened retro diner in Katong. Styled with warm yellow LED lights, ceiling fans, old posters, and arcade machines, the space feels almost reminiscent of a vintage Hong Kong film. Its menu, however, leans more towards old-school American or Western fare.

If the concept feels familiar, that’s because it comes from the same team behind Star Western in Kovan—a store known for its generous portions and wallet-friendly prices. With Sta Western, it follows the same formula, but with just a touch more style and retro charm.

With prices starting at S$9.90, you can get heaping portions of mains from chicken chop to lamb chops and more. Each plate comes with ladles of baked beans, buttered toast, a sunny-side-up, and other sides piled high and served on a simple metal tray.

For an absolute classic, the USA Baked Potato (S$3.50) is simple, hearty, delicious, and affordable. It’s a perfect midday snack that’ll keep you satiated until your next meal. If you’re craving some good old finger food, they have everything from Corn Ribs (S$6.50) to Fresh Fried Sotong (S$11.90) and more. With its characteristically huge portions, it’s a great dish to share among friends and family.

To round things off, the drinks menu keeps things local with staples like Iced Yuan Yang (S$3) and Teh Limau Iced (S$3)

Whether you’re here for the nostalgia or just a solid, satisfying meal, Sta Western is the perfect escape to simpler times and better vibes
