<p>It seems like we’re going back to our roots as we have been faced with a rising amount of retro-style <em>kopitiam </em>concepts like <a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/great-nanyang-somerset/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong>Great Nanyang</strong></a> and <strong>Killiney Kopitiam</strong> — not to mention JB’s <strong>Oriental Kopi</strong> that most Singaporeans have been crossing the border for.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Well, if you’re seeking out somewhere to satisfy your cravings, this place in the <strong>East </strong>might do the trick.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/ipoh.jpg" alt="Ipoh Town Kopitiam" class="wp-image-83064" width="800" height="600" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/ipoh.jpg 1360w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/ipoh-300x225.jpg 300w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/ipoh-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/ipoh-768x576.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/ipoh-1170x878.jpg 1170w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/ipoh-520x390.jpg 520w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/ipoh-585x439.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption>Photo: BWS Agency/google images</figcaption></figure>

<p><strong>Ipoh Town Kopitiam </strong>has officially made its debut in Singapore with its first outlet being in <a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/ny-chargrill-jewel-changi/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong>Jewel</strong></a><strong> Changi</strong> — now, you can have a taste of Ipoh delicacies without <em>actually </em>travelling overseas.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Not to mention, this place would be perfect for those who are missing the familiar taste of Asian flavours, especially after touching down from a long red eye flight.&nbsp;</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/nasi-1-scaled.jpg" alt="Ipoh Town Kopitiam " class="wp-image-83635" width="800" height="1071" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/nasi-1-scaled.jpg 1912w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/nasi-1-224x300.jpg 224w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/nasi-1-765x1024.jpg 765w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/nasi-1-768x1028.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/nasi-1-1147x1536.jpg 1147w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/nasi-1-1530x2048.jpg 1530w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/nasi-1-1920x2570.jpg 1920w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/nasi-1-1170x1566.jpg 1170w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/nasi-1-291x390.jpg 291w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/nasi-1-585x783.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption>Photo by Confirm Good</figcaption></figure>

<p>Savour the traditional flavours and taste of nostalgia with the<strong> Nasi Ayam Goreng Berempah (S$12.90)</strong> boasting coconut rice served with a <em>huge</em> slab of tender, crispy fried chicken leg seasoned in a harmonious blend of over 10 Malay spices. Pair it with the spicy belacan chilli to add a fiery <em>oomph</em> that will keep you coming back for more.&nbsp;</p>

<p>If you have any <a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/mihrimah-restaurant-north-bridge-road/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Malaysian</a> pals who are feeling a little homesick, the “homely” and comforting flavours of this dish might just lift their spirits.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/hor-fun-1-scaled.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-83627" width="800" height="1067" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/hor-fun-1-scaled.jpg 1920w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/hor-fun-1-225x300.jpg 225w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/hor-fun-1-768x1024.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/hor-fun-1-1152x1536.jpg 1152w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/hor-fun-1-1536x2048.jpg 1536w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/hor-fun-1-1170x1560.jpg 1170w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/hor-fun-1-293x390.jpg 293w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/hor-fun-1-585x780.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption> Photo by Confirm Good</figcaption></figure>

<p>Spice it up with the hearty <strong>Ipoh Chicken Soup Hor Fun (S$12.90)</strong>,<strong> </strong>which sees smooth and silky flat rice noodles imported directly from Ipoh itself, bathed in an <em>extremely</em> flavorful yet “clean-tasting” broth with a tinge of sweetness from the prawns.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/hor-fun-2-scaled.jpg" alt="Ipoh Town Kopitiam " class="wp-image-83628" width="800" height="902" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/hor-fun-2-scaled.jpg 2270w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/hor-fun-2-266x300.jpg 266w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/hor-fun-2-908x1024.jpg 908w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/hor-fun-2-768x866.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/hor-fun-2-1362x1536.jpg 1362w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/hor-fun-2-1816x2048.jpg 1816w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/hor-fun-2-1920x2165.jpg 1920w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/hor-fun-2-1170x1320.jpg 1170w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/hor-fun-2-346x390.jpg 346w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/hor-fun-2-585x660.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption>Photo by Confirm Good</figcaption></figure>

<p>If you’re feeling <em>boujee </em>that day, why not top up an additional <strong>S$5</strong> for two luxurious pieces of scallop?&nbsp;</p>

<p>It’s <em>definitely </em>a dish that’s uniquely Malaysian, but nonetheless, packs a punch which may just be what you need for dinner.&nbsp;</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/curry-scaled.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-83629" width="800" height="984" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/curry-scaled.jpg 2082w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/curry-244x300.jpg 244w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/curry-833x1024.jpg 833w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/curry-768x944.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/curry-1249x1536.jpg 1249w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/curry-1666x2048.jpg 1666w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/curry-1920x2361.jpg 1920w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/curry-1170x1439.jpg 1170w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/curry-317x390.jpg 317w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/curry-585x719.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption>Photo by Confirm Good</figcaption></figure>

<p>It’s no secret that Singaporeans’ favourite breakfast of choice is<em> good ol&#8217; </em>kaya and toast, but have you ever had <strong>Fragrant Curry </strong><a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/9toast-dhoby-ghaut/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong>Toast</strong></a><strong> with Soft Boiled Egg (S$4.90)</strong>?&nbsp;</p>

<p>It may look unassuming at first, but the curry actually carried quite a spicy kick to it so the creaminess from the soft boiled eggs <em>definitely</em> helped. Now I can see why it is such a popular breakfast choice back in Ipoh as this unique combination warms your stomach right up.&nbsp;</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/egg-tartcs-scaled.jpg" alt="Ipoh TownIpoh Town Kopitiam Kopitiam " class="wp-image-83630" width="800" height="1024" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/egg-tartcs-scaled.jpg 2001w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/egg-tartcs-234x300.jpg 234w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/egg-tartcs-800x1024.jpg 800w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/egg-tartcs-768x983.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/egg-tartcs-1200x1536.jpg 1200w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/egg-tartcs-1600x2048.jpg 1600w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/egg-tartcs-1920x2457.jpg 1920w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/egg-tartcs-1170x1497.jpg 1170w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/egg-tartcs-305x390.jpg 305w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/egg-tartcs-585x749.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption>Photo by Confirm Good</figcaption></figure>

<p>That’s not the only thing that you can look forward to. <strong>Choy Kee</strong> <strong>Bakery </strong>— a renowned brand in Ipoh — will also be making its first venture in Singapore. Look forward to Ipoh’s famous <a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/honolulu-cafe-taro-tarts/"><strong>Egg</strong></a><strong><a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/honolulu-cafe-taro-tarts/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"> </a></strong><a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/honolulu-cafe-taro-tarts/"><strong>Tarts</strong></a><strong> (S$2.40) </strong>featuring smooth, melt-in-your-mouth egg custard encased in an irresistible flaky pastry crust.</p>

<p><em>Hopefully, you don’t have to wait in line for hours just to have a taste of it (fingers crossed).</em></p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/dim-sum-scaled.jpeg" alt="" class="wp-image-83069" width="800" height="511" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/dim-sum-scaled.jpeg 2560w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/dim-sum-300x192.jpeg 300w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/dim-sum-1024x654.jpeg 1024w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/dim-sum-768x491.jpeg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/dim-sum-1536x981.jpeg 1536w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/dim-sum-2048x1309.jpeg 2048w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/dim-sum-1920x1227.jpeg 1920w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/dim-sum-1170x748.jpeg 1170w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/dim-sum-585x374.jpeg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption>Photo: Ipoh Town Kopitiam</figcaption></figure>

<p>Those who aren’t in a rice or noodles <em>kinda </em>mood, why not fill yourself up with light snacks like the fried or steamed <a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/24-hour-food-singapore/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><em>dim sum</em></a>? This includes the likes of<strong> Fried Char Siew Bao (S$6.90 for three pieces)</strong>, <strong>Kaya Puff (S$2.40)</strong>, and <strong>Siew Mai (S$6.90 for three pieces)</strong>.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/rendang-scaled.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-83632" width="800" height="865" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/rendang-scaled.jpg 2366w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/rendang-277x300.jpg 277w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/rendang-947x1024.jpg 947w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/rendang-768x831.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/rendang-1420x1536.jpg 1420w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/rendang-1893x2048.jpg 1893w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/rendang-1920x2077.jpg 1920w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/rendang-1170x1266.jpg 1170w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/rendang-361x390.jpg 361w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/rendang-585x633.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption>Photo by Confirm Good</figcaption></figure>

<p>Other snacks included the <strong>Rendang Pie (S$3.50) </strong>featuring a buttery crust and tender beef chunks. The only gripe that I had was that the rendang could afford to be more seasoned, but it was still enjoyable nonetheless. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/coffee-1-scaled.jpg" alt="Ipoh Town Kopitiam " class="wp-image-83633" width="800" height="967" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/coffee-1-scaled.jpg 2119w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/coffee-1-248x300.jpg 248w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/coffee-1-848x1024.jpg 848w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/coffee-1-768x928.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/coffee-1-1271x1536.jpg 1271w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/coffee-1-1695x2048.jpg 1695w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/coffee-1-1920x2320.jpg 1920w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/coffee-1-1170x1414.jpg 1170w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/coffee-1-323x390.jpg 323w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/coffee-1-585x707.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption>Photo by Confirm Good</figcaption></figure>

<p>Of course, you can’t miss out on the <strong>Ipoh “Overjoy” White Coffee (S$4.90 for ice) </strong>and<strong> (S$3.50 for hot)</strong> that is <em>definitely </em>a must-order. For those who are unfamiliar with it, you may have seen the iconic “overflowing” coffee look all over your FYP.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Unlike the typical “overflowing” <em>kopi</em>, the coffee beans are roasted with margarine rather than sugar and butter.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Since the rest of the dishes were already rich in flavour, the bittersweetness from the coffee married with the creamy condensed milk <em>really </em>helped to balance out the greasiness.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/over-lay-scaled.jpg" alt="Ipoh Town Kopitiam " class="wp-image-83634" width="800" height="844" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/over-lay-scaled.jpg 2427w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/over-lay-284x300.jpg 284w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/over-lay-971x1024.jpg 971w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/over-lay-768x810.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/over-lay-1456x1536.jpg 1456w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/over-lay-1942x2048.jpg 1942w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/over-lay-1920x2025.jpg 1920w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/over-lay-1170x1234.jpg 1170w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/over-lay-370x390.jpg 370w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/over-lay-585x617.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption>Photo by Confirm Good</figcaption></figure>

<p>So the next time you’re bringing your entire <em>kampung </em>down and looking to impress your fellow aunties or uncles, you know where to go.</p>

<p>Are <em>you </em>in the mood for old-school kopitiam fare?</p>
