9Toast is a chill and cosy cafe that offers Singapore’s first ever honey-glazed toast alongside trending latte flavours, just a five minutes walk away from Dhoby Ghaut MRT.
It’d be nice to switch things up here (instead of going for your usual breakfast or afternoon snack), especially since it’s situated in the heart of town and easily accessible.
Menu-wise, they’ve kept it relatively simple by serving only iced drinks and honey-glazed toast in an assortment of fun flavours.
Get the signature Original (S$6.50) toast which comprises creamy milk injeolmi, strawberries, and milk cream on signature honey-glazed white Shokupan bread.
Think chewy mochi goodness enveloped in pillowy and milky-sweet perfection (and the milk cream comes separated so you can add however much you like).
Alternatively, go down the savoury-sweet route with That’s So Cheesy (S$7.50) toast that features honey and mozzarella cheese.
Besides that, you might be able to catch the Summer Zest toast with yuzu jam, sweet candied lemon, and a hint of rosemary garnish — a summer treat, perhaps? As it isn’t officially on their menu yet, you might wanna head down earlier to get your hands on it before it sells out.
I can also see the orh nee lovers making a beeline for the Purple Haze (S$7) toast.
It boasts a combination of purple sweet potato and taro, milk injeolmi, honey, and milk cream. Plus, they don’t add any lard or pork oil unlike the typical taro treats that you’d find elsewhere.
Pair your toast with the Purple Haze Latte (S$6.50) that combines a thick layer of taro and purple sweet potato with frothy, fresh milk. It isn’t overly sweet so you can easily enjoy it without feeling jelak.
There are other refreshing drinks available like Iced Matcha Latte (S$6.50), Yuzu Green Tea (S$6.50) paired with citron zest and mint, as well as the caffeine-free Ruby Rooibos Tea (S$5).
Otherwise, get your morning started with Black Coffee Macchiato (S$6.50) inspired by eggnog coffee using sea salt milk cream, cocoa, and in-house brewed black coffee. It’d be a great energiser to fuel you for the rest of the day.
