Although dining out can get cost a pretty penny these days (my heart aches whenever I look at the GST charge on a receipt), it’s still fairly easy to seek out exquisite omakase meals that don’t break the bank — as long as you know where to look.
For instance, you don’t need to be celebrating a special occasion in order to enjoy omakase at Teru, a Japanese restaurant along Stanley Street that has rolled out not one, but two enticing promotions.
Firstly, they’re currently running a 1-for-1 promotion on their Lunch Omakase priced at S$69++ per diner (U.P. S$138++ for two), inclusive of the following courses:
- Appetisers
- Sashimi
- Mushimono
- Yakimono
- Mini Don
- Soup
- Dessert
Although the seven courses change regularly (I mean, it’s omakase), you can expect dishes featuring premium ingredients like uni, lobster, caviar, and truffle!
If you prefer to switch it up with something fiery, go for the 1-for-1 Teppanyaki Lunch, so you and your dining partner will only need to fork out S$39 each (U.P. S$78++ per pax).
Watch the chef grill up a storm, perhaps with a couple of playful antics thrown into the mix, as you start off with an appetiser, followed by your choice of main course, like Chicken, Salmon, Scallop, King Prawn, Cod Fish, or Mix Seafood (+S$20).
Feel free to treat yourself to Wagyu Beef Sirloin for an additional S$35 (what I’d totally do, as someone can who never resist a good cut of wagyu).
Regardless of what main you go for, you’ll get to pair it with a selection of Seasonal Vegetables, Teru Signature Garlic Rice, Miso Shiru, and to end off, a Chef’s Dessert. Dinner and a “show”? Say no more.
