Popular steakhouse The Feather Blade opens in Katong with a seafood bar serving S$2.50 oysters, sandos & free steaks for one day only

As someone who can never (and I repeat, never) resist a good steak, The Feather Blade is one of those places you simply cannot go wrong with.

And I couldn’t be happier knowing that the popular steakhouse is opening its second outlet in Katong (along East Coast Road) on 28 November 2023!

Inspired by renowned steakhouse Flat Iron in London (I still dream about the free salted caramel ice cream at the Covent Garden outlet), The Feather Blade serves up alternative cuts of beef, notably the iconic Feather Blade Steak, alongside a range of classic and Asian-inspired sides and sauces.

This new outlet, however, will also feature a seafood bar menu, creating a surf and turf steakhouse experience for all those who love steak and seafood.

If you’re a fan of the classics, you can choose between the Original/O.G. Steak (S$24) or the smoky Binchotan Steak (S$28) grilled with a sweet and savoury house glaze.

The real surf and turf affair begins with fin-tastic options from the seafood bar, including the likes of Canadian Oysters (from S$7 per pair, S$2.50 per piece during happy hour), Jumbo Crab Cocktail (S$18.50), and Norwegian Shrimp Carpaccio (S$14).

As for the new exclusive mains, you can take your pick from Japanese milk bread Sandos in iterations of Steak (S$34), Swordfish Belly (S$32), and Cheesy Egg (S$21), while rice eaters can go for Bowls topped with Beef (S$28), Seafood (S$24) or Mushroom (S$16).

Free to take your surf and turf game to the next level with toppings like Ikura (S$3), Onsen Egg (S$3), and even Foie Gras (S$20) — decadent!

Regardless of what mains you go for, you’ve got to pair ’em with sides like Charred White Corn with Taragon Cream Sauce (S$9), Miso Aubergine (S$7) topped with feta cheese and toasted cashews, and Triple-cooked Beef Fat Fries (S$8).

And of course, no steakhouse should consider themselves worthy without a medley of sauces like Wasabi Cream (S$2.50), Sansho Peppercorn (S$3.50), and Miso Mustard (S$2.50).

Feeling excited? On opening day, 28 November, the steakhouse will be giving out free steaks from 6pm (limited to one steak per dine-in customer), available for walk-ins only. I don’t know about you, but free steaks sounds like my idea of the perfect promotion.

From 28 November to 31 December, diners can also enjoy 15% off lunch when they order from the a la carte menu. If you’re an oyster lover, naked oysters will be priced at only S$2.50++ per piece with every drink ordered (maximum six pieces) if you drop by during Happy Shucking Hour before 7pm.

But the promotions do not end, as you can look forward to a rotating selection on weekdays as follows:

  • Munchies Mondays: free-flow fries with every Feast of 2 ordered
  • Tipple Tuesdays: two cocktails for only S$22
  • Wine Wednesdays: 1-for-1 housepour wines by glass and free corkage when you BYOB
  • Toddler Thursdays: kids under seven eat for free (from the Kids’ menu) with every main course ordered

If you’d prefer to drop by during lunch, the steakhouse has got you covered with more wallet-friendly options like onsen egg-topped Kurry Bowls (S$16); Steak/Sando Frites (from S$18) with complimentary Triple-cooked Beef Fat Fries; and Rolls (from S$14).

I can’t wait to make The Feather Blade at East Coast my newest go-to for steak and drinks — what about you?
