This all-inclusive cruise that spans three years and explores over 130 countries might just be cheaper than living in Singapore

Admit it, how many of us are still in our early 2000s wanderlust era (Tumblr fans, anyone)? NGL, I’m one of those who never quite grew out of that phase — so you can imagine my excitement when I heard about the world’s first three-year cruise by Miray that allows you to explore 135 countries over a whopping 130,000 miles (209,215km)

Hear me out — this sounds like a luxury only the most affluent can pay for, but I’d beg to differ. For most of us, we can’t afford to take a three-year-long holiday — but if you’re fortunate enough to have the opportunity to work remotely, it might not be such a far-off dream after all.

Touted as the ultimate adventure, prices start at USD$29,999 (S$40,685) per year for the all-inclusive cruise aboard the magnificent MV Gemini. Just for comparison’s sake, Royal Caribbean’s longest cruise spans 274 nights and costs USD$59,999 and above. Doesn’t Miray’s alternative sound a lot more affordable now?

MV Gemini has spacious living areas and modern amenities that have been specially designed for long-term residence — you’ll find beautiful pools to sunbathe in, a state-of-the-art gym, free medical consultations, and various entertainment options (hint: golf simulators, performances, and more).

Remote workers, you’ll be delighted to find that the fare also covers high-speed wifi, a large business centre with meeting rooms, and numerous office spaces. There’s no reason you can’t work hard and play hard!

Plus, all your meals (and alcohol!) have already been included in the fare, which means you’ll have free access to all dining venues throughout your stay. Considering how Singapore’s insane rent prices (and cost of living) have been on a relentless upward trend, snagging a room aboard this ship might just be comparable to staying at a rented apartment!

For those of you who might be concerned about feeling cooped up aboard the three-year cruise, there will actually be stops at 375 ports — and the ship will dock for a few nights in certain locations, so there’s defo ample time to sightsee. For instance, there’s a six-night stopover in Singapore — one of the longest for the whole journey!

Passengers will get to explore tons of exotic beaches, lively cities, and UNESCO World Heritage sites all over the world. Just think about it — how many people get to visit 13 of the 14 wonders of the world, fall asleep in one country and wake up in the next?

With about 400 cabins that can only house up to 1074 passengers, you can expect tickets to be snapped up pretty quickly.

The cruise departs from Istanbul on 1 November 2023, which gives you plenty of time to prepare. Let your dreams set sail with the holiday of a lifetime!
