You know how finding the golden ticket in Charlie & the Chocolate Factory earned you a trip to Charlie’s magical chocolate factory? Good news for people who like hunting for things because Tiong Bahru Bakery has introduced their own “golden croissant” hunt.

But instead of getting a tour of a magical croissant factory and taking over from an eccentric owner, the lucky few who manage to find one of Tiong Bahru Bakery’s golden croissants will get an entire year’s supply of their buttery croissants instead.

From 11 Oct 2021 until 9 Jan 2022, twenty-one lucky customers will be able to get their hands on a golden ticket to three hundred and sixty-five vouchers to redeem their signature Plain Croissants (S$3.50) — 1 for each day. The golden croissants can only be found when you dine-in and not when you take away or order delivery.

While it’s not as exciting the same as inheriting a croissant factory, at least you don’t have to see some creepy Oompa Loompas dancing and singing to children dying to get your reward.

So how do you know if you’re a lucky winner? These elusive viennoiseries will be hidden amongst the daily batches of their Plain Croissants (S$3.50) waiting for you to find them.

The lucky croissants will have luscious golden custard and shiny gold flakes embedded into their airy, laminated insides. So double-check after you take a bite or cut open the flaky pastries to see if you managed to snag one of Tiong Bahru Bakery’s golden croissants.

If you hit the jackpot, you just have to tell one of Tiong Bahru Bakey’s staff that you found a golden croissant and they will give you a special QR code meant for winners only so you can claim your prize.

It’s quite a big prize too — a year’s supply of croissants cost a whopping S$1,277.50. Well, and probably an ungodly amount of calories too but that’s a risk my waist is willing to take for all of that buttery indulgence.
