If you’re planning a visit to Takashimaya for a girls’ day out and/or a shopping spree, why not head on down to Wanderlust Cafe, a multilabel cafe featuring several homegrown F&B brands alongside a snazzy new retail space?
The cafe is housed on the newly revamped Level 3 of Takashimaya Department Store, now known as the Ladies’ Fashion Contemporary Zone, a retail space filled with artisanal handicrafts, fashion apparel and jewellery, lifestyle accessories, and more unique beauty brands.
The pastel pink hues, wooden furniture, potted plants, and huge mirror are certainly easy on the eye — ideal for a pit stop in between all that shopping!
One of the main highlights of dining at Wanderlust Cafe is the selection of dainty desserts, consisting of Tarts and Sliced Cakes (from S$9.90) from popular bakery Cream & Custard.
Tuck into the zesty Passionfruit Meringue Tart, Lychee Rose, or even the iconic Watermelon Strawberry Cake, which boasts layers of almond dacquoise, rose-scented fresh cream and a juicy layer of fresh watermelon, adorned with fresh strawberries, blueberries, grapes and dried rose petals.
Suppose you’re in the mood for something a little more substantial. In that case, you can choose from the array of IG-worthy Tartines (S$9.90) AKA loaded sourdough made from scratch by Belly Good Bakehouse with toppings like Truffle Egg Mayo and Guac & Salsa. All you avo toast fanatics should go for the latter, which features house-made guacamole, a tangy tomato salsa, micro greens, and feta cheese.
Alternatively, go for the breakfast-y Mixed Berries Tartine, topped with berries, house-made raspberry cream cheese and granola.
Don’t forget to recharge with coffee by The Affogato Bar, bottled juices from Gorilla Press, or fruity iced teas from home-grown tea brand Gifel Tea, including the likes of the Raspberry Lychee Soda (S$8) and Yuzu Soda (S$8).
