Attention to all Mentaiko fans! Get ready to travel to Hakata city in Fukuoka prefecture, Taste the Cheesy Mentai Oyster (S$7.90), where the succulent oyster is topped with creamy cheese and mentai mayo – the perfect combination.

Fugu, or pufferfish, is a delicacy that is expertly prepared and served in the form of Fugu Tempura (S$4.20). Thick slices of pufferfish are lightly battered, fried till crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and served atop a bed of fragrant Japanese sushi rice.

Moving to the southeastern coast of Kyushu to Miyazaki prefecture, where Chicken Nanban (S$5.40) originates. These morsels of crispy fried chicken are coated in a tangy, sweet-and-sournanban sauce and paired with creamy tartar.

Experience culinary luxury with the A4 Kyushu Wagyu Sushi (S$4.90), featuring premium, beautifully marbled beef sourced from the Kyushu region. Each slice is lightly torched to release its rich, buttery flavors, paired with a subtle hint of freshly cracked black pepper. For a delightful touch of citrus and spice, the A4 Kyushu Wagyu Yuzu Kosho Sushi (S$4.90) delivers melty goodness complemented by the zesty umami notes of yuzu kosho.

In Kyushu, oden is a staple available at yatai (street stalls) that line the streets of Hakata city. Slurp up some Oden (S$6.20), featuring assorted fishcakes and radish simmered in a light dashi broth.

Taste the coastal flavours of Oita prefecture in Ryukyu (S$9.90), an inspired sashimi selection of freshly sliced salmon and yellowtail. This marinated sashimi dish is delicately seasoned with a special sauce. 

A popular dish you can find in ramen and izakaya spots in Kyushu is chicken chashu. Genki Sushi turns this into a creative Chicken Chashu Open Style Temaki (S$2.90), where the tender chicken chashu is served with rice and seaweed to deliver a mouthful of savoury umami flavours.

For dessert, have Matcha Mont Blanc (S$4.30), earthy matcha cream layered into a delicate Mont Blanc-style dessert with bittersweet notes.

For that extra fragrance, try the Gula Melaka Egg Tart (S$2.80/pc) that finishes with a rich toasted note.

Using house-made buns, the Pork Chop Bun (S$5.90) is layered with mustard-seed sauerkraut and a sweet shoyu glaze over the charred pork chop.

The Pan-Roasted African Chicken (S$9.80) comes with a chicken that packs a punch from the herb marination, along a side of couscous and spicy coconut sauce, giving an overall bold and robust flavour profile.  

Under the classic Macanese Minchee Rice (S$10.90) hides a 63-degree C-cooked egg, which glues the savoury beef-and-pork Asian ragu to the rice and potato confit — an overall hearty ad comforting dish. A vegetarian version is also available. 

To go with all the main dishes are the Salted Lemon drinks (S$1.80/can) that comes with a pickled plum. It surprisingly goes very well with the gassiness of the drink, and rather addictive. 

Leaning on Zac’s SHATEC training and Vernice’s baking expertise, there are also other Macau-inspired dishes, including airy and crisp Bolo Bun (S$3.50) with flavoured butter and vanilla cream.

Available as a seasonal special for a limited time only, adventurous diners can go for the roasted Pan Roasted Quail (S$15; S$8 for half-portion), which is influenced by Macau’s famous pigeon speciality. The mild and delicate meat is flavoured with garlic sriracha, ground roasted rice powder, and charred lemon.

Adding a contemporary spin to Macau’s traditional beef stew is a fusion pairing: Beef Stew Capellini (S$9.90) instead of rice or thick noodles. Affordable Breakfast Bundles (S$4.50 each) and refreshing dessert options, including Coated Tropical Fruits (S$6.90) and Coconut Tapioca Pudding (S$4.90), are also on the menu.

The main thing to look forward to at The F1 Exhibition is exploring seven immersive rooms, engineered to bring you into the history and action of the sport. One room explores the past, present, and future of F1, with rare artefacts of yesteryear and glimpses of where the sport is heading today and tomorrow.

Other rooms are filled with displays of cars and parts, as well as drivers’ suits and equipment. You will come out of these rooms with a deeper understanding and appreciation of the inner workings of F1. 

You will also get a closer look at innovative technologies, car designs and champions from teams such as Red Bull Racing, McLaren, Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team, Scuderia Ferrari, and more. And of course, you will leave with many photos taken, for sure.

A uniquely Singapore experience

Another room, Singapore Drive, is exclusive to the Singapore edition of The F1 Exhibition, and will showcase and honour our nation’s decorated history in F1. Even as one of the iconic locations featured on the yearly F1 calendar, Singapore has made contributions to motorsport beyond just hosting an annual F1 Grand Prix race since 2008. There will also be The Fastest Lap racing simulators that will give you a chance to experience what it’s like to drive an F1 car around the Marina Bay Street Circuit. If it hasn’t hit you yet, this exhibition is filled with innovation, immersion, and interaction.

We’ve covered a traditional Nanyang cafe and a Thai restaurant — how about a Korean restaurant for a change? Bomul Samgyetang is also celebrating the World Cup season with a promotion, available Monday to Thursday, 2.30pm–4.30pm, from 11 June 2026 to 19 July 2026.

This promotion is aptly named ‘The Recovery Club’, as the restaurant’s menu features Singapore’s largest range of Korean ginseng organic chicken soups. These items will surely be nourishing, as much as they are tasty. 

During the promotion, diners can choose to order any two items from the full menu starting from S$24++ per pax. This is essentially a ‘World Cup Buddy Set’, so at least two diners must be present for this promotion to be valid. 

Once you’re at the restaurant with your buddy, quote “Oppa, I need ginseng power” to the staff, and you’ll be able to enjoy the special deal. The menu’s soup items are usually S$29++ and above, so the savings are definitely worth sacrificing a bit of ‘face’ for.

The grand opening marks six years since founder Sophia Yeow began baking from her home kitchen, starting a journey that has taken the brand from a two-product home delivery operation to a central kitchen, and now, a permanent home in one of Singapore’s most storied heritage neighbourhoods of Katong and Joo Chiat. 

Founded by Sophia and her daughter Nicole Lian (Managing Director of Tiap Tiap), Tiap Tiap is built around the simple conviction that food is equally about what is on the plate and who gathers around it. This philosophy is embedded in everything from the brand’s recipes to the shop itself, where guests can savour a cup of coffee or tea with a slice of cake, while deciding on a cake to purchase for a loved one.

Sweets

Sophia initially started with just three items: pandan chiffon cake, radish and yam kueh. The Pandan Chiffon Cake, made with Japanese cake flour and hand-pressed pandan juice is served with a separately bottled gula melaka for drizzle. 

A guilt-free pandan chiffon, using monk fruit as a sugar replacement, was developed over six months of recipe testing and validated with continuous glucose monitors, giving customers a healthier option to indulge in. 

The menu has since grown to include Ondeh Ondeh Cake, Banoffee Pie, and Chocolate Cream Cake that reimagines the heartland roll cake in an elevated form with Van Houten chocolate rice and Valrhona dark chocolate.

Savoury 

The savoury take-home range draws on Sophia’s Peranakan heritage and personal culinary history, spanning paper-wrapped chicken, Teochew ngoh hiang, Nyonya curry midwings, and seafood yuteow, all made from fresh ingredients. These items, sold frozen with cooking instructions included, are Tiap Tiap’s answer to the busy household, making heritage food accessible to time-starved professionals and working parents whenever the occasion calls for it.

Snacks

The shop’s snack counter features fish keropok made with mackerel, hand-stirred Nyonya kaya made without egg whites for a much rounder and umami spread, and DIY muah chee designed to be eaten cold, allowing customers to store it in the fridge and enjoy it without worrying about it hardening the moment it leaves the steam warmer.
