Barbie is one hell of an influencer, isn’t she? From clothing and beauty products to home decor and even cars, there’s nothing left that hasn’t gotten the Barbie makeover.
This time, donuts are also inspired by her — all thanks to this famous American donut chain, Krispy Kreme.
Honestly, I ain’t that surprised as Krispy Kreme loves rolling out limited-edition donut collections for special events. Just a few months ago, they had an Olympics-themed batch and now they’ve gone full-on Barbie!
That’s because Barbie is turning 65 years old in 2024. Ok, I’m sure Barbie isn’t exactly a senior citizen but she’s been inspiring girls for over six decades, which is what we’re celebrating here.
The Barbie Krispy Kreme collection treats us to three delightful flavours: Barbie Pink Doughnut, Malibu Dream Party Doughnut, and Barbie Berries ‘n Kreme Doughnut.
Barbie Pink Doughnut is the de facto star of the show, turning the crowd-favourite Original Glazed Doughnut into a pink dream.
Filled with luscious pink buttercream and dusted with finely milled pink sugar, it’s topped off with an adorable pair of Barbie sunglasses — because even donuts deserve to accessorise!
Then there’s the Malibu Dream Party Doughnut, inspired by Barbie’s Malibu Dreamhouse.
It’s as beachy as it looks as blue icing is piped atop the donut to mimic ocean waves, while sparkly graham crackers capture the sandy shore. But what about the flavour? It’s Cake Batter Kreme — a classic that will never go wrong.
Ending off the collection is Barbie Berries ‘n Kreme Doughnut, an unglazed shell donut stuffed with Strawberry Kreme. It’s decked out in playful purple and pink stripes, topped off with the iconic Barbie logo.
Since the Barbie Krispy Kreme donuts are limited-edition, you’ll want to snag them while you can! This collection is only around from 5 September to 30 September 2024, and is available at all outlets islandwide and online.
