Pokémon has been all the rave for the longest time ever — not that we’re complaining. Now, joining the mix of Pokémon-themed flights, plushies, and apparel, is a lineup of cable car cabins. Taking flight from 1 May 2023 to 30 September 2023, you can catch a glimpse of the eye-catching red and white Poké Ball cabins and maybe even ride with your favourite characters along the Mount Faber Line.
A total of 67 Poké Ball cabins will be zipping through Mount Faber Station, Harbourfront Station, and Sentosa Station. The exterior cable cars all sport the look of the iconic Poké Balls, while the interior of each cabin is decorated according to five different characters.
Possibly everyone’s favourite Pikachu and Eevee will have dedicated cabins decorated after them. Other Pokémon that will get their own dedicated cabins include Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly from the latest Pokemon video games. The stations will also be decorated with a vibrant assemblage of newly-installed multicoloured lights and graphics.
Apart from riding in the cabin with your favourite characters, you’ll also get to take photos with them at the photo spots around Mount Faber Peak. Apart from catching Pikachu, you’ll also be able to spot Pichu, Psyduck, and my all-time favourite, Snorlax.
You’re gonna need some motivation to keep you going during your Pokémon hunt. What makes a better treat than a complimentary refreshing mango or strawberry-flavoured ice cream to beat the heat?
To redeem this free treat, all you gotta do is to take a picture with at least two different Pokémon and post them onto your personal Instagram or Facebook accounts. Once you’re done, you can head over to the Singapore Cable Car Gift Shop @ Mount Faber Peak or Singapore Cable Car Gift Shop @ Imbiah Lookout to claim your free ice cream. Each visitor is limited to one redemption and it’s only available while stocks last — so make sure you are snappy! While you’re there, make sure to check out some of the cute merch.
Tickets to the Singapore Cable Car are available at counters and on the MFLG website at $35 for adults and $25 for children aged between four and 12, while children aged three and below ride for free. Visitors can also choose to do a $10 top up for one-day unlimited rides.
Visitors who make over-the-counter purchases of Mount Faber Line cable car tickets and bundles will also receive a complimentary collectible Pokémon-themed sun visor, while stocks last. The visors are available in four designs — Pikachu, Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly.
