Thus, I set out to look for a solution — I tried Beijing 101 for the first time with its newest treatment, the Tri-Action Scalp Revival, and was pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. Previously, I doubted the efficacy of these haircare treatments; however, Beijing 101’s stellar track record since its establishment in 1974 left me feeling optimistic about my own hair health.

The process 

Before we began, I was a little nervous, not knowing what I had signed up for. However, the reassuring consultant talked me through the 3-step routine—Hydro Scalp Reset, to clear clogged follicles and restore balance in the scalp, Nutrient Booster, to improve scalp condition for fuller-looking hair, and a Follicle Awakening Spray, to stimulate circulation and reduce hair fall —so I fully understood the procedures done to my hair. 

The treatment started with the Hydro Scalp Reset. The hair specialist used a small suction device to unclog my hair follicles, getting right into the nooks and crannies with the small handheld machine and going over every inch of my hair bed. Knowing there was likely an excess of dead skin, impurities, and product on my scalp, the procedure felt very satisfying.

After the Hydro Scalp Reset cleanse, a customised mask was applied to my hair to balance my scalp condition and remove excess oil. Then, my hair was washed, and I received a customised ampoule that was applied to my scalp with the Nutrient Booster, which uses vibration to embed the nutrients deep within my scalp. 

The therapist then gave me a Beijing 101 Signature Meridian Head Massage. He informed me that the signature massage releases Qi, aka energy blockages, boosting circulation and promoting relaxation while stimulating follicles. The massage truly felt relaxing and even lulled me to sleep a couple of times. 

The session concluded with Follicle Reawakening, a gentle spray that nourishes the scalp, minimises hair loss, and encourages growth by delivering active ingredients deep into the follicles. Upon completion, I noticed my scalp already feeling a lot cleaner and lighter, and I was excited to see the long-term effects of this treatment. 

My thoughts on the experience 

While at Beijing 101, I was surprised at the number of Gen Zs and millennials stopping by. I realised hair loss, hair thinning, and oily, flaky scalp were not only prevalent among the older generation. 

When I asked the consultant about this, he said that common causes for these concerns include high stress, poor diet, harsh treatments, and even being post-partum—things the younger generation are all too familiar with. 

It made me realise that while people are willing to invest in skincare products and professional treatments, we’ve painfully neglected our scalp care, and the consequences are stark.

Sure enough, this applied to one of our colleagues, Yan, who indulges in fried food and late-night scrolling. Recently, she realised more hairfall than usual and that her scalp was becoming flakier and more sensitive, thus sensing that something was not quite right. Constantly waking up with an extremely itchy scalp and oily hair even after washing her hair the night before, she tried to find a solution online. Upon searching, she learnt about TK TrichoKare, and headed over for their Scalp Purifying Therapy treatment, hoping to identify the cause behind her hair and scalp issues.  

As she began her therapy session, a personalised scalp scan analysis was first performed by a TK TrichoKare consultant. With the 200x magnified scalp scans shown on screen, the consultant skilfully identified and explained what was affecting Yan’s scalp condition. Even with her daily hair washing routine, the results showed severely inflamed skin, ridden with flakes on an oil clogged scalp.

From the analysis shared by the consultant, it became clear that everyday lifestyle habits play a much bigger role than most people realise. It’s not always one obvious trigger, but a combination of things. Such as irregular sleep, and stress that can slowly throw your scalp off balance.

Most of us have at least one or two habits that could be affecting our scalp without us realising. Which is exactly why getting a proper scalp analysis can be so eye-opening—it helps you understand what’s actually going on, instead of just guessing.

After identifying the root causes of her scalp irritation, her care was continued by another Hair Specialist who oversaw the next stage of treatment. The customised European Herbal Scalp Masque. Packed with essential minerals and vitamins like iron, copper, selenium, and zinc, these superfoods are sure to aid Yan’s scalp health.
