The new Cathay Cineplexes outlet in Tampines will officially open its doors on 21 November 2023 and to celebrate its grand opening, they’ll be offering free movie screenings from 17 to 19 November 2023 — there’s no grander way to celebrate than this!
The swanky new space offers a host of new features that give moviegoers an experience like no other. All the six movie halls here sport a retro theme and are each fitted with comfy seats and a vibrant neon sign — don’t worry these get turned off when the movie starts.
For a more relaxing movie watching experience, you can opt for the wave seats located at the front of the hall. They’re kinda like lounge benches you find at the beach but more comfy. The fell-length loungers fit two people and you can lie back, relax and enjoy the movie — perfect for a romantic movie date. Cathay Cineplexes Century Square is the first cinema in Singapore to offer such seats.
The cinema will also be the first in the east to offer the Dolby Atmos Hall which offers the best audio quality to elevate your movie watching experience. You’ll be able to hear almost every little detail of the movie.
Other cool new features offered here include Assisted Listening Device Systems so that our hearing impaired friends can also enjoy the movie on the big screens, as well as handicap and wheelchairs friendly counters for better accessibility and inclusivity.
From 17 to 19 Nov, you’ll get to experience all these cool features and more as Cathy Cineplexes Century Square is hosting free movie screenings. The movies to be screened include viral Thai horror The Djinn’s Curse, and Malaysian horror film Rahsia.
