Love is in the air – for outdoor movies under the starry skies, that is. With Films at the Fort ending soon (the last movie showing 21 August 2022) and Sentosa’s Movies by the Beach (available till 23 September 2022) – we now have another outdoor cinematic experience to add to the list. Say hello to Cinewav @ Marina at Keppel Bay.

A premium silent cinema experience where you get to enjoy the movie on the big screen and listen to the audio through your phones while seated in comfortable recliners in a lovely outdoor setting – Cinewav is back with their elevated film-watching experience.

Located at Keppel Bay, head down early to catch the sunset before watching the film of your choice by the sparkling waters and under the night sky. And if you’d like to make it extra special, you could even bring your own food and drinks and make it a bit of a movie picnic date too!

The venue opens at 7pm, movie starts at 7.45pm, and there are 12 specially curated movies to choose from, screening from 26 August to 1 October 2022. Here’s a list of the movies available:

1. Jimami Tofu (26 Aug, Friday & 1 Oct, Saturday)

A Singaporean chef formerly working in Tokyo finds himself in Okinawa begging a disgruntled old chef to teach him traditional Okinawan food. A top Japanese food critic finds herself in Singapore on an eye-opening discovery of Southeast Asian cuisine. In reality, both are looking for each other after an emotional breakup years ago when she left him without a trace. 

2. Jumanji : Welcome to the Jungle (19 Aug, Friday)

In the brand new adventure Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, the tables are turned as four teenagers in detention are sucked into the world of Jumanji. When they discover an old video game console with a game they’ve never heard of, they are immediately thrust into the game’s jungle setting, into the bodies of their avatars, played by Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan. 

3. From the Vine (20 Aug, Saturday)

A downtrodden man experiences an ethical crisis and travels back to his hometown in rural Italy to recalibrate his moral compass. There he finds new purpose in reviving his grandfather’s old vineyard, offering the small town of Acerenza a sustainable future, and reconnecting with his estranged family in the process.

4. Little Women (27 Aug, Saturday)

Writer-director Greta Gerwig (Lady Bird) has crafted a Little Women that draws on both the classic novel and the writings of Louisa May Alcott, and unfolds as the author’s alter ego, Jo March, reflects back and forth on her fictional life. In Gerwig’s take, the beloved story of the March sisters –four young women each determined to live life on her own terms –is both timeless and timely. 

5. Marley and Me (2 Sep, Friday)

Newlyweds John and Jenny Grogan (Owen Wilson, Jennifer Aniston) leave behind snowy Michigan and move to Florida, where they buy their first home and find jobs at competing newspapers. Soon afterwards, the Grogans adopt Marley, an adorable yellow Labrador pup. But Marley soon grows up to be a mischievous handful. Still, even while he’s destroying the furniture and failing obedience school, he always manages to bring out the best in John, Jenny and their growing family.

6. (500) Days of Summer (3 Sep, Saturday)

This is a story of boy meets girl, begins the wry, probing narrator of 500 DAYS OF SUMMER, and with that, the film takes off at breakneck speed into a funny, true-to-life and unique dissection of the unruly and unpredictable year-and-a-half of one young man’s no-holds-barred love affair. 

7. The Matrix (10 Sep, Saturday)

8. Say Anything (16 Sep, Friday)

A noble underachieving high school senior, Lloyd Dobler wants nothing more than to go out with beautiful valedictorian, Diane Court. Lloyd attempts to win her heart over the objections of her over-protective father before Diane leaves for college on a scholarship in England.

9. Traumfabrik (Dream Factory) (17 Sep, Saturday)

Summer 1961, Germany. Emil (Dennis Mojen) arrives at DEFA Studio Babelsberg to begin working as an extra when he falls in love with a French dance-double, Milou (Emilia Schüle). Though it’s love at first sight, they are torn apart when East Germany closes its border and erects the Berlin Wall just days after they first meet.

10. The Beauty Inside (23 Sep, Friday)

A woman (Han Hyo-joo) loves a man whose body magically changes age, gender or nationality every day, into a man, woman, old, child and sometimes a foreigner. A very modern and original Korean love story.

11. Crazy Stupid Love (24 Sep, Saturday)

At fortysomething, straight-laced Cal Weaver (Steve Carell) is living the dream –good job, nice house, great kids and marriage to his high school sweetheart. But when Cal learns that his wife, Emily (Julianne Moore) has cheated on him and wants a divorce, his “perfect” life quickly unravels. 

12. Alien (30 Sep, Friday)

On their voyage home, the crew of the deep space tug Nostromo investigate an alien distress signal, inadvertently picking up and bringing aboard an extraterrestrial life form with violent and lethal survival instincts.
