This hidden cafe serves up a unique yet wallet-friendly take on old-school waffles alongside matcha einspanners & brunch staples under S$15

When you walk past most bread shops, chances are that you’ll be able to spot a Singaporean favourite — waffles. Personally, I find myself unable to resist the temptation of having a piping hot, freshly-made waffle most of the time, so you’ll defo see me joining the queue to get one.

You can understand my excitement then, when I first heard of Crescent Waffles. Tucked away in the multitude of TikTok-famous stalls in Fortune Centre, this cosy little café takes old-school waffles to a whole new level.

Their pandan waffles start from S$2, which is surprisingly around the same price range as what you can find at the typical takeaway-only bread shops — it’s even more bang for your buck because you can dine in and enjoy your waffles in a relaxed café setting.

Although there are a variety of fillings available, like the usual chocolate, cheese, kaya, and more, you’ll find that one stands out — their black sesame waffles (S$2.80). Crescent Waffles is insanely generous with their fillings, and the nutty and earthy flavours are everything you could ever wish for.

Apart from waffles, the café also offers sandwiches and salads at wallet-friendly prices. Snag a smoked salmon croissant or a peri-peri chicken sandwich at just S$11.90, or opt for a healthy chicken caesar salad at S$9.90. The best part? There’s no GST or service charge!

As the perfect accompaniment to your meal, you can also try their iced crescent coffee (S$6.50), which is an einspanner-style coffee featuring a thick layer of whipped cream on top. Talk about indulgence! If coffee isn’t your thing, they also serve up other drinks like matcha (S$5.50), iced golden (sparkling lemonade with apple, peach and mint, which costs S$6), and more.

To end off your visit, select your dessert of choice from their assortment of pastries ranging from chocolate almond croissants (S$5.50) to earl grey raisin muffins (S$4.90) — or try out their homemade chocolate banana bread (S$4.50).
