It isn’t easy to find hotpot, BBQ, and mala xiang guo that’s both halal and supper-friendly all in one place, but why fret when you can simply hit up to Dajie Makan Place in Bedok?

Simpang Bedok is one of my favourite supper hotspots, and this casual halal eatery tucked away in Bedok Shopping Complex has become immensely popular with the late-night crowd, given that it opens till 2am daily.

If you have the mookata-style BBQ hotpot (under Kakak BBQ Hotpot) in mind, take your pick from affordably priced platters suitable for 2 Pax (S$28.80) or 4 Pax (S$38.80), which comes with the option of a la carte add-ons like Korean Bulgogi Chicken, Wagyu Beef, and Crayfish.
Throw the ingredients you fancy onto the grill for a sizzlin’ good time, dunk ’em into spicy homemade Tom Yum Soup (for an additional S$3), and don’t forget to have a blast!

Although Dajie Makan Place has outlets in Clementi, Bukit Batok, and Yishun (where you can get halal chicken rice, laksa, and even Ampang-style yong tau foo, the Bedok outlet is the only one to offer BBQ hotpot.

For those craving the fiery, oily, and numbing mala xiang guo, the eatery’s signature Special Mala Hotpot with varying spice levels is priced from S$3 per 100g of meat and/or seafood, along with a S$1.50 mala base.
You can even opt for Mala Soup (sorta like mala tang) if you’re in need of a spicy and soupy pick-me-up.

Ready to fulfil your mala and mookata cravings after a long day? I think we both know where we’ll be heading to.
