Nestled along the stretch of speciality coffee joints near Maxwell MRT station, Fieldnotes is the first dine-in concept by the team behind popular online cake shop Zee & Elle.
The calming and aesthetically-pleasing space adopts the same clean, minimalist interior (with touches of greenery) you see at many cafes these days.
The intricate, multi-layered fresh cream creations you can find at Zee & Elle are inspired by lush botanicals and whimsical colours and are freshly baked to order in the studio.
No preservatives are used; just pure ingredients like butter, sugar, eggs, and 100% fruits.
True to its ethos, the selection of pastel-hued cakes sold at the cafe feature botanical flavours and light-as-air fresh cream — pleasing to both the eye and the palate.
First-timers who’ve yet to try anything from the brand can go for the signature Honey Yuzu Slice, which incorporates the tangy flavours of yuzu and manuka honey from New Zealand. Alternatively, the equally popular Mango Yuzu comes studded with fresh mango chunks — an enticing option for fans of mango desserts.
Another must-try is the unconventional yet delectable Guava Lychee Slice comprising a guava-infused sponge layered with guava cream and lychee bits.
