The most anticipated game of the year (and decade), Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6), has just opened pre-orders at midnight on 25 June 2026. The game will come in a Standard Edition (S$109) and Ultimate Edition (S$136), and will be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on 19 November 2026.
Here is a summary of what we know so far.
Ultimate Edition exclusives
GTA 6 looks to be one of the most expensive games to make and own. Priced at S$136, the Ultimate Edition unlocks an additional S$27 worth of content, which is mostly centred around cosmetics and items that should not affect the core gameplay and experience much.
Based on the official GTA 6 website, these items will also need to be unlocked as you play the game, so don’t expect to access them immediately from the beginning. Keep reading to see if the Ultimate Edition is worth getting for yourself.
Premium vehicles & modifications
One of the main highlights of the Ultimate Edition would be access to a handful of exclusive vehicles. This includes a mid-90s-inspired sports car, an army-themed motorbike, an off-road vehicle, a luxurious motorboat, a personal kayak, and more.
Additional modifications will also be available only to Ultimate Edition owners, through exclusive Mod Shops and Mod Kits. These will allow you to add on more personal touches to your cars and express your personality beyond what is available in the base game.
Exclusive stylings & customisation
Talking about personal touch, it is obvious that GTA 6 will feature deep character customisation, allowing players to create their own version of the game’s dual protagonists. Jason and Lucia might be the main characters, but it is the player who will shape their look, choices, and story.
With the Ultimate Edition, you will be able to access more outfits, hairstyles and weapon skins for the duo. Certain hair salons and clothing stores will also only be ‘open for business’ for owners of this edition of the game.
Pre-order bonuses
Purchases of GTA 6 before 20 November 2026 will also come with bonuses, regardless of whether you get the Standard Edition or Ultimate Edition.
Aptly named the Vintage Vice City Pack, these bonuses harken back to the neon-soaked heydays of the game’s main location. This includes a classic sedan, an exclusive garage, retro outfits and hairstyles, and a weapon pattern that pays homage to the city’s original kingpin.
Return to Vice City
GTA 6 is developed by Rockstar Games, best known for its Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption video game series. These games are critically acclaimed and commercially successful, and are considered some of the best games ever made.
Rockstar’s games usually feature sprawling open worlds to explore, filled with detail and activity. The gameplay is also usually highly immersive, complemented by high-fidelity visuals and a gripping main story.
This latest instalment of the GTA series will take players back to the iconic location of Vice City, which first made its debut in 2002’s Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and was last seen in 2006’s Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. After 20 years, players finally get to see a modern, expanded version of Vice City and its surroundings.
Rockstar Games describes GTA 6 as “the biggest, most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet”. And as the name of the series suggests, players can expect GTA 6 to take freedom of gameplay to the next level once again.
In usual GTA fashion, it will be a crime-centred story and adventure, where high-octane car chases, high-stakes heists, and intense shootouts are just one part of the experience. Based on the screenshots and information released so far, it is safe to say that you will have access to a variety of other activities.
Racing, off-roading, flying, scuba-diving, kayaking, hunting, wrestling a crocodile — if you can think of it, it’s probably doable in GTA 6. Safe to say, this will be a game played by many for at least the next decade, with secrets still being uncovered years from now. The question is, will you be one of them?
