French-style Sanrio-themed Hello Kitty & Little Twin Stars cafe to open at The Stamford Brasserie with adorable food & decor

by Christabel Tan

Fans of adorable themed-cafe concepts and/or Sanrio are in luck!

After a successful run at Fairmont Singapore (remember the themed staycation and afternoon tea at Anti:dote?), Hello Kitty has returned, this time alongside Little Twin Stars, at The Stamford Brasserie in Swissôtel The Stamford.

Mark your calendars for 22 November 2022 and get ready to delight in a dreamy cafe experience at the upcoming Sanrio-themed Hello Kitty & Little Twin Stars cafe.

The typically Parisian-chic bistro has been transformed into a celestial world filled with puffy clouds and pink cotton candy fields. Pastel motifs of Hello Kitty and Little Twin Stars are featured throughout the extremely IG-worthy cafe, so remember to capture photos of yourself with Hello Kitty, Kiki, and Lala (there’s even a dedicated photowall at the entrance).

But that’s not all. The beloved Sanrio characters are also featured in the food. Choose from a delightful selection of sweets, savouries, and drinks that is bound to put smiles on the faces all of guests, Sanrio fans or not.

If comfort food is calling out to you (it is that time of the year, after all), go for the warm and hearty On Cloud Nine (S$16), wild mushroom soup topped with creamy cappuccino foam, as well as the Fried Rice Paradise (S$22) that features a blue-hued butterfly pea flower béchamel sauce served atop fluffy egg fried rice with vegetables — a dreamy take on a local favourite.

Got cravings for a good burger? The Kawaii Pulled Pork Milk Bun (S$28) comprises juicy pulled pork, aquaponics salad (using vegetables grown in Swissôtel The Stamford’s own farm), and pink garlic aioli while The Burger Buddy (S$30) focuses on the classics AKA a juicy Angus beef patty with the works (pink garlic mayonnaise, lettuce, and potato and vegetable chip).

Leaving room for desserts adorned with Hello Kitty & Little Twin Stars accents is a must here. The most aesthetically pleasing of the lot, Whimsical Wonderland (S$16), with its yogurt cone, blackberries pea lychee popping, and potpourri juice, is certainly a sight to behold.

Not that the other desserts fall short in taste and presentation, of course.

Matcha lovers like me will relish the Monaka Wonders (S$16), a rich matcha gelato served with azuki red bean and honey mochi, while those who adore all things decadent can go for the luscious Chocolate Dreams Sable Tart (S$16) served alongside sea salt soil and vanilla gelato.

Round off the meal with Hello Kitty & Little Twin Stars-inspired beverages like Milky Way Milkshakes (S$17) and mocktails (S$18). I can definitely see both the Rosy Dreams, a “pink flamingo” milk tea with rose and strawberry, and Galaxy Adventures, a refreshing apple, cucumber, and butterfly pea tea number, being a hit with young and old alike!

Those who can’t get enough of their favourite Sanrio characters can pick up more Sanrio-themed sweet treats like Log Cake (S$160 for 1kg) and Macarons (S$14) at The Stamford Brasserie’s Grab and Go section — they make the cutest gifts for the festive season.

Do note that this themed cafe will only run from 20 November 2022 to 29 January 2022, so make your bookings by contacting +65 6431 6156 or [email protected].
