Itā€™s that time of the year again ā€” the oh-so-popular light festival and outdoor art experience i Light Singapore 2024 is back and this time it will be taking place from May 31 to June 23 2024

Besides the usual locations like Marina Bay, South Beach, and Millenia Walk, it will also take place in Tanjong Pagar. While admissions are free, do keep a lookout for more information coming in May.

This yearā€™s theme is Cyclical Nature and inspired by the colour green ā€” see where Iā€™m going with this?

You can look forward to 17 glowing and interactive exhibitions by 25 different local and international artists that aim to foster greater awareness around sustainability, nature, and the environment.

Be sure to check out UK-based Studio Vertigoā€™s Spin Me a Yarn which features larger-than-life yarn balls that loops around the surrounding environment, highlighting the issue of how yarn usage significantly contributes to global pollution.

Other highlights include Kinetic Perspective by Spain-based Juan Fuentes Studio.

Made of upcycled iron remnants, this geometric art piece moves continuously and creates infinite combinations to create trippy optical illusions and aesthetic visuals

Up for something more dynamic?

Kickit Team Tennis is an immersive game created by a Hungary-based artist where youā€™ll gather into two teams of five and attempt to kick the illuminated balls to your opponentā€™s side ā€” perhaps you might even end up making a new friend?

Otherwise, you can always head to the Fountain Plaza which invites their visitors to rest, play or interact on illuminated yoga balls.

Itā€™s always important to support local artists and you can do so by visiting Liminal: Minimal by Benjamin Lim and Yeo Soon Yii from SUTD.

Their artwork spotlights the issue of construction waste by using repurposed materials from building sites (plus it makes for an IG-worthy photo spot).

Afterwards, you should head to The Lantern as it features a luminous pavilion made from 5,000 upcycled plastic bottles by Josephine Pun Tsz Kiu from NUS to serve as a mindful reminder of the waste that we generate.

For the first time, iLSG is collaborating with The Conscious Festival, a sustainable lifestyle event, to bring a variety of fun-filled activities.

Think wellness workshops, transformative talks, music performances, and even an outdoor marketplace.

The popular GastroBeats will also be making its return at Bayfront Event Space with sustainably-produced food using organic ingredients.

This yearā€™s food vendors include the likes of The Curry Club, 8 Degrees Taiwanese Bistro, Papiā€™s Taco and more. Staying in line with the theme, you are also encouraged to bring your own reusable cups, flasks, and storage containers.

Just by looking at the lineup for i Light Singapore 2024, itā€™s definitely going to be a feast for our eyes ā€” donā€™t forget to mark your calendars and grab your friends and families for an illuminating night!
