Japanese bread lovers, your dreams have crumb true. If you’ve been battling the snaking queues at Gokoku, turn your eyes to Kamome Bakery instead.

It’s already been around for years, but it continues to be a cosy hideaway in Goldhill Shopping Centre.
Here, you’ll be able to indulge in authentic Japanese breads, including those you won’t be able to find easily elsewhere. Some unique finds include yakisoba-pan, a yakisoba-stuffed bread roll, and aesthetic fruit cream sandwiches.

You can’t miss out on the Signature Kamome Toast (S$3.90), an eggless toast baked fresh daily without preservatives. For a spin on this fluffy bread, try the Sesame Toast (S$4.20).

A customer favourite is the Red Bean & Butter (S$3), an indulgent snack with Japanese red bean paste and a thick slab of salted butter.
The famous Japanese salt bread, Shio Pan (S$3), is also here.

For something with a little more chew, pick the Awfully Sesame Mochi (S$4) and Peanut Mochi (S$3.80). There’s even the Orange Chocolate Croissant (S$4) and Apple Cream Cheese (S$3.90).

Kamome’s Novena outlet has a dine-in area with a breakfast menu running from 8am to 1pm, so there’s no time like the present to invite your family down for brunch.

Try the Kamome Breakfast (S$18), featuring a croissant, kopan (a broiche-like dough), scrambled egg, and pork sausage. Or, get the Sunny Side Egg in Toast (S$14), a humble sunny side up egg atop a slice of Kamome toast.
Too many eggs in your basket? You can’t go wrong with the Ham & Cheese Croissant (S$16).

Hot coffee or tea is also included in the set meal, but you can also top up S$1 for an Iced Long Black, Latte, Flat White, or Iced Tea.
So, will you be trying the bakes at this authentic Japanese bakery?
