Roll out the red carpet — there’s a new star in town.

What film is screening? It’s Korea Culture, Singapore’s first-ever cinema-themed Korean semi-buffet concept, now open at Changi Airport Terminal 3

Like an actual cinema, the restaurant changes the film of their theme every six months.

To kick things off, Squid Game takes the wheel for the restaurant’s first season.

You won’t be catching any K-Dramas here, but you can still choose your movie snacks or more accurately, your banchan dishes at the unlimited BanChan Buffet!

For just S$21.90, you’re handed a ticket to over 50 dishes from Korea and beyond

The buffet begins with a salad bar before transitioning into classic banchan like lotus root, Korean radish, cucumber, and kimchi

Dishes are then loosely categorized. Fried bites like tempura enoki mushrooms and fried cauliflower are placed with other dishes like mashed potatoes and Korean fishcake soup.

And if the Asian in you desperately needs some rice or noodles, Kimchi Fried Rice and Japchae Sweet Potato Noodles are there to save the day.

Round it all off with the finale — the unlimited ice cream bar. Choose from four flavours from Häagen-Dazs, including vanilla, mango sorbet, strawberry, and coffee.

You’ll also find a drink station with soft drinks, coffee, and a trio of soupsKorean Soup, Mushroom Soup, and Korean Porridge.

It’s understandable if the variety feels overwhelming. Alternatively, you can opt for the mains. These include the free-flow BanChan Buffet too, giving you even more to indulge in.

Fan-favourites like Bimbimbap Bowls and Army Stews are for your picking. We couldn’t sample everything, but we went for Kimchi Army Stew (S$46.80) and Korean Ginseng Chicken (S$48.80).

Both dishes are good for two people, and I have to agree, as my dining partner and I were stuffed by the end.

The Korean Ginseng Chicken is comforting, perfect for a chilly rainy day. Don’t be intimidated by its size, as the tender meat falls off the bone effortlessly.

As for the Kimchi Army Stew, it’s bold, spicy, and packed with hearty meats, noodles, and vegetables.

Other than these Korean dishes, get to the meat of the menu with the Char Grilled dishes, the Battered & Fried selection, or the Chicken Chops

Planning to bring kids along? There’s the Just For Kids menu with three kid-friendly dishes. Kids below three dine for free, whilst those between three and nine have to order a kids set meal.

But the fun doesn’t end here. Just like in Squid Game, you’ll be invited by a game master in pink to play a game like rock, paper, scissors or ddakji.

For every mini-game a person wins, your table gets 10% off, up to a maximum of 50% — so bring your friends and your A-game.
