This September, River Wonders at Mandai Wildlife Reserve will be holding a panda-themed celebration. And there’s no better time for such an event because the resident pandas at the river-themed wildlife park – Kai Kai and Jia Jia – are celebrating their birthdays this month!
Kai Kai & Jia Jia’s Birthday Celebration
Jia Jia recently turned 18 on 3 September 2026, and Kai Kai will turn 19 on 14 September 2026. Visitors to River Wonders on 5 and 13 September 2026 can witness their birthday celebration in person at the Pavilion Capital Giant Panda Forest.
Keep an eye out for the black-and-white furballs on those 2 days at 12pm as they will dig into specially prepared gift boxes packed with their favourite treats. Cuteness overload!
Panda Planet Immersive Experience
Kai Kai and Jia Jia’s birthday celebrations are not the only panda-themed activities at River Wonders this month. From 4 to 14 September 2026, there will also be a new exhibition that visitors can explore.
The Panda Planet Immersive Experience, presented by iPanda, is making its first stop outside China under the China-Singapore Panda relations initiative with Mandai Wildlife Group. With this exhibition, visitors will be able to get a closer look into the world of giant pandas through 3 themed zones.
One zone will let you learn about the evolution and behaviours of giant pandas, while another will put you into an MR Experience. The latter allows you to explore the natural ecosystem of the creatures through an interactive virtual experience.
Across the 3 zones, you can also test your panda knowledge with trivia challenges and snap photos at panda-themed photo spots for a chance to redeem exclusive merchandise. With this event happening exactly during the September holidays, it’s another idea for a day out with your family and kids.
