Largest outdoor go-kart circuit, indoor badminton hall with 22 courts & new Timbre+ foodcourt at Singapore Expo

With Phase 2 fading away, we’re slowly climbing out of our caves and venturing into the world again. Though things may seem pretty quiet, there’s something huge coming our way.

While we were stuck at home, a carpark at Singapore Expo with about 300 spaces has been remodelled into a go-kart track operated by KF1 Karting, which also has a circuit at the Singapore Turf Club in Kranji.

Slated to open in late August, the go-kart track has already been used for trail runs.

The upcoming go-kart track at Singapore Expo can host up to 15 karts at one time and will be the first karting circuit in eastern Singapore.

Close to S$1 million was invested into the new go-kart circuit and it will operate under a one-year temporary occupation licence.

Besides the go-kart circuit, there will also be an air-conditioned viewing gallery and a rooftop al fresco dining area. Even if you’re not up for a spin, you can sit back and relax with some refreshments.

There is no official launch date yet, but we can expect it to open by late August.

Prices are stated to be the same as the ones at Resorts World Sentosa, at S$28 for the Novice (25km/h) and S$35 for the Advanced (40km/h) session. Each run lasts for 10 minutes.

The go-kart circuit isn’t the only upgrade that Singapore Expo will be getting. A new indoor badminton hall is being built at Singapore Expo Hall 6 and it will house 22 courts, making it the largest badminton hall in Singapore.

The bookings for the hall are expected to open at the end of next week — time to work those WFH tummy rolls away.

Or maybe not. Timbre+, the hipster food village that all Northies are familiar with, will be launching at Singapore Expo too.

Work on the amenities began in March 2021, where a structure that will house the new Timbre+ foodcourt was built on the site of one of the eight outdoor carparks near halls 4 to 6 at the Mice venue.

With all these new sproutings at Singapore Expo, it seems like the Easties will have much to look forward to.
